Is it just me or are Quiznos subs really not all that great?

No, this is just wrong. The next time you are on the East Coast, you must go to the White House in Atlantic City. The place has been there since the dawn of time, and for good reason - they serve the best cheesesteak on the planet.

Why, oh why did my grandparents have to move away from there? Now I have no excuse to go to Atlantic City.

Quiznos: went once, never to return
Subway: only go if it is absolutely the only game in town and someone else insists on going

Most chain restaurants just plain suck, that’s all. It’s formulaic and it’s cheapo ingredients and it’s doughy, chewy bread and it’s either tasteless or bad enough to knock a buzzard off a shitwagon. End rant.

I admit I like Quizno’s, even though they’re ridiculously expensive. I usually get the Black Angus sub (sliced steak and cheese), their most expensive one, and because I’m a big guy, I always get the “large.” That sub comes out to $8 and change! But it is GOOD. I also love their sauces, and usually ask for extra ones that don’t even “belong” on that particular sub. I like the bread they use with the cheese baked in, the different sauces, and the toasting process. I even bought a take-home glass bottle of Quizno’s Batch 81 Three-Pepper Chili Sauce, I liked it so much. But still, it’s often cheaper to go to a friendly neighborhood restaurant, even of the sit-down variety!

Quizno’s is waaaaaaay too spendy for the quality of the subs. I’ve only eaten there a few times, and what I’ve eaten was okay, but not something I could justify spending that kind of money on.

My favorite sub chain is Port of Subs, if anyone has the pleasure of eating there. I’ve always liked it better than Subway.

“Come for the gambling, stay for the subs!”

Quizno’s is a bit better than Subway or Togo’s but is overpriced and shamefully bad when compared to a sandwich from a good speciality market delli.

I’ve only been to Quizno’s once. Had their Turkey Ranch sub, and it was good but a bit expensive. Doesn’t mean I won’t go back though…it’s expensive for “fast food” but not-so-much compared to non-fast-food sandwich places.

Overall, they’re better than Subway, but not quite as good as Potbelly’s, maybe about the same level as Paniera.

Quiznos is ok, but Publix (regional supermarket) subs are much better, and they use fresh meats and cheeses straight from their deli.

I finally tried Quiznos down at my sister’s house. Actually, she got two sandwiches for four adults and her two kids. She sliced them up in about two inch wide pieces. I tried my slice and was glad that she didn’t make them bigger, and this is coming from someone who can finish off a foot-long sub (if I like it.) Later, I asked my Dad if he liked his and he said he wasn’t thrilled with it either.

Seattle Dopers, the best subs I’ve tasted are at Elliot Bay Pizza on Queen Anne Ave. Good crusty bread with a generous amount of ingredients toasted in their pizza oven. I never even get their pizzas because I like their subs so much.

I eat at quizno’s once a week, at least. After being an avid subway eater for a few years, it was a refreshing change when I started eating there(quiznos). Paying extra is reasonable, because I have drinks at home, and am usually filled up by just the sandwich anyway(no chips, etc).

Oh, plus I’m interested in an employee there, so that keeps me coming back.

Publix subs rule the school! Everything from their deli is usually very good.

Like several othersI think Quizno’s is decent for a chain, especially compared to nasty Subway, where I got food poisoning last time I ate there. I like the flat bread sammiches. But Quizno’s is crap compared to the ultimate sub place in Chicago: Fontano’s.

Everything at Subway tastes the same, and not very strongly like whatever it’s tasting like.

Quiznos toasted calorie bombs are better, but pricey. I’m not interested in peppers, whether they come from a bar or a jar behind the counter.

Oddly, “Torpedo Joe’s” at Old Navy has decent sandwiches for the price.

Most of the sub-type sandwiches at Safeway (my local grocery chain) are on bread sturdy enough to use as building material. Terribly hard and chewy.

I’m such a sub snob. Subway freaks me out. Their meat tends a little too much toward the gray side for me. There’s this sub place here called Lenny’s. If I’m gonna have one, it’ll be at Lenny’s. Fresh sliced, good quality meats and cheeses and excellent bread. I’ve never been to Quizno’s, but I tend more toward cold sandwiches.

Like most of the folks here I really wanted to like Quizno’s but it’s just not very good (and it’s way too expensive), for those of us lucky enough to have one close it’s Schlotzsky’s!

Regular Deluxe Original on jalapeno cheese sourdough and a bag of salt & vinegar chips please (drool, I miss home!)

Lacking better options in the area, I like Quiznos. (Way better than Subway) Chicken carbonara is my current favorite, with one of those mini bundt cakes on the side. They’re expensive, but they usually have lots of coupons, so that my meal comes out comparable to Subway.

Well there’s no way ANY chain could compare with a place like Fontano’s. If you going to throw a ringer into the discussion we may as well end right here

But if your ever in the far western suburbs of Chicago you have to check out this place:

It absolutely ROCKS!

I like Quizno’s. I go there every couple weeks or so. It is better than Subway, which has actually gotten better. A local chain called Bellacino’s is much, much better than either one. Potbelly is better than any of them.

The ultimate sandwich, though, can be found at Perry’s Deli in the Chicago Loop. I think its at about Randolph and wabash or so. More sandwiches than subs, but it is absolutely awesome.

Unfortunately, Quizno’s is the best Italian Sub I can find in my area (Pasadena CA).

There are probably better ones, but I can’t find them. There used to be an Italian Deli in Pasadena called Primo’s, but they shut down over a year ago.

The San Antonio Winery in East LA has a pretty good one, but it’s too far out of the way

If you know of a REAL italian sub in LA, like the ones my Nana used to buy me as a child in Boston, speak up and help me out!

(At least the Philly Connection in Monrovia has real honest-to-goodness, artery-clogging cheesesteaks.)

Yeah RWW, Perry’s is really more of a deli, but that said it is one hell of a sandwich!
