Is it just me or are Quiznos subs really not all that great?

Quizno’s in Alpharetta, GA = great
Any other Quizno’s = suckiness

I don’t know why this is. I used to live in GA and my GF and I stopped by Quizno’s down there a couple of times and it was GREAT! I’ve been to a few in NC and SC and they’re just not as good… In fact, the one of South Blvd. in Charlotte is so bad the missus and I vowed never to return.

The best subs in the world were made in a mom & pop shop in my hometown outside Atlanta (not Alpharetta). It was run by an older husband and wife from Hungary - which was really exotic at the time - the early 1980s. Atlanta hadn’t really “taken off” yet growth-wise plus the whole Cold War thing was going on. Man, those subs were good! Wipes tear from eye…

As far as chains go, I too am down with the Publix subs. Too bad they don’t have Publix stores in Charlotte. Here I’m stuck with (ack!) Subway, (ack!) Jersey Mike’s and (ack) Quizno’s.

Is it just me, or does Jersey Mike’s meat taste like it was grown in a lab not on a farm?

The best sandwich Chain is Panera. The bread is fresh and so is the meat. The soups are great, too.

I also like Ranch 1 for their chicken sandwiches and fries.

Quiznos and Subway are both okay but nothing particularly special. I only eat there when I have almost no other choices.

They’re not great, no. But they’re ok. And there’s two within reasonable lunch distance from my job (I work in the middle of nowhere - so Starbucks and Quizno’s is it for nearby places to get food.)

Plus, ham is the only standard deli meat that I eat; Subway’s “ham” is scary, so I don’t eat there at all. Quizno’s is edible, even though it is ridiculously expensive.
But apparently, I’m going to Queen Anne Ave after I leave the gym tonight.
