Heretics! The lot of you! Home Movies doesn’t even have squiggle vision anymore! That fact alone precludes it from being better than Dr. Katz.
Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m going to sit in the corner with my fingers in my ears singing Mary Had a Little Lamb at the top of my voice.
Long time Home Movies fan here. How much of a fan? So much that I came damn close to accepting a job there as an animator. Unfortunately, Id have to take a 50% pay cut and work in a really sterile environment.
Got a tour of their studio- the animation is done in a fairly depressing studio, closely resembling a church basement. The artists work side by side on folding-leg card tables. Coming from a job where we have our own little cubicles which we’re encouraged to decorate in whatever outrageous means we want, this seemed like a bit of a bummer. Understandable, considering their shoe-string budget, but a bummer nevertheless.
Still, I love what they do. And I love the voice talent most of all. H. Jon Benjamin and Brendon Small are brilliant.
I did get a preview of the “Don’t put marbles up your nose” song about a year before it aired, so the interview was worth it, if only for that.
Oh, and Siegfried- Puala Poundstone used to voice Bendon’s mom, but was replaced around the same time as all her legal troubles. I don’t know if it was her decision or not to leave.
Oh dear God, they’re playing InuYasha four nights a week. Jaime will be so relieved…
But they’re getting rid of Outlaw Star and Yu Yu Hakusho completely, the two shows I try never to miss…
Wait, I don’t watch the cartoons. Maybe the show he really likes is Yu Yu Hakusho…
Man they are going to burn through the “Futurama” episodes fast.
