I wanted to know why the OP was specifying that they don’t count, i.e. what’s the rationale behind excluding wet dreams.

You can’t choose to have a wet dream. Dammit. :smack:
You aren’t even guaranteed to know that you have had one.

Yes, that is an accurate description of your post.
Okay, I just don’t understand why you are asking for a rationale. It’s just the question he’s asking. Other than wet dreams, is it possible to have an orgasm without physical stimulation?

Why must you haunt me so?
I want to know which muscles.
Actually, my wife wants to know.

Acetylcholine.
That sounds more like a panic attack to me–freeze up and then electric tingles (but not the good kind) suffuse the body.
I want to sit next to Nava during exams.
Nope. Looks like Clomipramine (brand name Anafranil)
For a 5% chance of boredom orgasms
*Doc - I’ve been really down lately… *

Speaking as one of the correspondent’s for Cecil’s column, yes.
No physical stimulation, and on occasion, no mental stimulation. Something to do with a bit of dehydration and a bladder at about half capacity. Took me by surprise in a department store. I had to hold onto a counter and bite my lip for about thirty seconds.
Warning - Hearsay: I asked a gay friend and co-worker in college (Long Beach, CA, 1990s) what he did for the weekend. He told me that he went to a gay nude beach. Some dude was laying on a beach towel next to him and they started flirting with each other. With no contact whatsoever, the dude “finished” as my friend watched.
It’s kind of funny that almost all of the people who say they can experience orgasms without genital stimulation are women, but Cosmopolitan magazine and everyday experience tell us that like half the women in the USA will never have an orgasm, ever.
I was one of the women that answered Cecil’s survey. Yes, it is possible for me to have an orgasm without physical stimulation. It’s only happened to me a couple dozen times or so, and it’s always a nice surprise when it does. For me it comes on fast and is usually associated with thinking about a particularly steamy night, but not always. I think of them more as mini-orgasms, as they aren’t nearly as intense as regular ones. It’s usually a quick rush through my body, a nice tingly sensation that ends up with a light and fast release. The feeling doesn’t always end in the mini-orgasm, sometimes it’s just a nice rush. Similar to Nava, a little bit of muscle flexing makes them a bit more intense and can trigger the actual orgasm. I’ve had them at work, in my car, at my desk at home, in bed, and once on an airplane.
But remember, this is the message board where the vast majority of women that reply to such threads, claim to have 5-10 orgasms per sexual session, while one person even said they have 100 orgasms a session. Yuppers. . .
Anywho, I’m female and I can’t orgasm without physical stimulation.
Thank goodness for that. I’d hate to think I was *completely * unnecessary.
Don’t worry! I need someone to get stuff down from high places for me too! So you’re still needed, lover!
The PC (pubococcygeus) muscle, which is the focus of Kegel exercises.
I can almost (almost . . . allllmost . . . dangit) climax from fantasy and Kegel flexing without other physical stimulation. Since I see it’s possible for others, clearly all I need is more practice!
Does the rope in gym class count?
There’s a similar scene in the film and stage play Bent. (Though that takes place in a concentration camp, not on a beach, but two men bring each other to orgasm just by talking since they have been forbidden to come into contact with one another.)
Now I feel bad. I’m 5’5".
