Is it time for Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid to go?

Heck, you gotta get rid of Reid just so you can get Yucca Mountain back on schedue.

I’ve never understood how anyone, even Nevadans, could object to turning Nevada into a nuclear-waste dump.

Reid needed to be gone ages ago. Pelosi isn’t as bad.

I never understood Reid. The mafia tried to kill him back when he worked in Nevada, but now he is afraid of forcing the GOP to filibuster. I have no idea what goes on in his head.

Pelosi isn’t all bad. She sticks up for the public option and says the CPC, asian, black and hispanic caucus will not vote for something w/o a public option.

But I disagreed with her on impeachment and donated money to her competitor in the 2008 primary election.

During the health care debates some senators were proposing giving out committee assignments via secret ballot instead, as a way to intimidate the likes of Baucus or Lieberman. I would fully support that.

My understanding that every year (or is it session?) the Speaker is re-elected. Pelosi is an abject idiot - just listen to any interview she does. Are there any Demos out there that the Reps would be willing to vote for and can take enough Demo votes to defeat Pelosi?

Then you just haven’t been paying attention. Let me put it to you simply: we don’t want it because it’s toxic and dangerous. If you don’t mind having dangerous, toxic waste near you for the next few thousand years, please make a few phone calls and volunteer your backyard.

As for Harry Reid: he won’t lose his next election. Get used to him. He’s going to be around for a while.

I used to be part of the “make 'em filibuster!” crowd, until I found out that the Dems would need to keep a quorum (50 Senators) present on the floor to keep maybe 2 or 3 GOP Senators taking turns talking.

Even now that there are 59 Dem Senators, I can’t see how Reid could manage to talk 50 Dems into sticking around all night in order to keep the GOP talking, unless it was something pretty damned important. And even then, remember that he has to talk them into it - he doesn’t have any authority to make them do it.

Well, if my backyard was a hundred square miles and had a mountain on it and they wanted to bury the waste a mile under that mountain, sure.

Then please, go buy said area and volunteer it. But we don’t want it in our backyard.
