Is Michael Jackson wearing a wig?

Earlier today, I saw a news clip of Michael Jackson getting out of a vehicle (in England, I think) and as he did he put his had to the back of his head and he moved all his hair at once. It wasn’t much, but it did all move in unison.

The gesture was telling, too. It is what a person who wears a long-haired wig does when that person (usually a woman) has been sitting with his/her hair against a high backed chair or car seat for some time.

I have never seen or heard any discussion Michael’s hair being false. Nose, chin, skin color, cheek bones, kid, yes; but never his hair.

Has anyone else ever heard about this?

TV

I haven’t heard anything, but what you say does make sense. It was wondering about his hair too. He is so messed up in so many spectacular ways, but his hair looks too…healthy to be really his.

It looks as though Jacko has travelled down the Elvis path. He is so rich, that no one dares to tell him what a freak he’s become. If someone does, he’d likely fire them and hire someone who doesn’t have “no” in his vocabulary. Unless there’s some sort miraculous turnaround soon, he’ll likely join the King.

In any case, the next time you see a news clip of Jackson getting out of a vehicle, check it out, does he go to the back of his head with hands and does he press deep and adjust?

Look at the notorious pix from the trial last week – it’s gotta be a wig, and a cheap one at that. (What do they make Barbie hair out of – dynel?)

It’s not that uncommon for popstars to wear wigs… well, okay, so it wasn’t uncommon in the *80s. It had more to do with the flexibility of being able to do quick, major hairstyle changes without needing to grow or cut the real stuff. Plenty of female popstars still make use of it in a costuming sort of way – like Cher, who has a bazillion wigs for public appearances and who has multiple costume and hairstyle changes during her shows.

In MJ’s case, yeah it’s weird. Or at least weird that his wig is such poor quality – his penchant for “costumes” is pretty well-established. It’s probably easier for him to keep his real hair short to go under a wig and then have a selection of wig styles to choose from. Why he chose “barbie-style” remains a mystery.
