Is My Computer Conspiring Against Me?

I play Hearts on my PC while waiting for the SDMB to load.

I win my share - nothing special - but it seems to me that if I get ahead, one of the computer players usually becomes the one who wins most of the hands after that. It almost seems that the software is written so that they try to dump on me - not in the deal, but in the play.

Is this really happening, or do I just suck at Hearts? I assume that which cards have been played already is stored for each computer player, and I can’t always remember that, so that may be the source of my troubles. Or did Microsoft really program the game to try to dump points on whoever is not a computer generated player?

Shodan

I’ve encountered the same situation. I’m convinced MS Hearts will cheat should you ever get ahead.

I think it’s quite possible.

Unless I’m paranoid, MS’s Solitaire program stacks the game against you if you (in the program’s opinion) play too many times, or too long at one sitting.

I’m kind of glad, though. I get negative feelings when I play Solitaire. It is so utterly mindless. Nowadays I playa couple of games and quit. I’d rather tackle a good crossword puzzle.
