Is my dog a lesbian dog, why does she do this?

Hello - long time lurker here.

My female dog will stare at both my partner and I the entire time we are undressing and no matter how many pieces of clothing we pile on top of the undies, she’ll dig them out, take them to her spot in front of the bed, plop down, lick them for a bit and then lay on top of them and roll around with her entire body.

Why does she do this? Any Vets have the answer to that?

And don’t even think of being snarky, There is nothing ripe about the undies to be begin with.

She likes your smell. It probably makes her more comfortable to have stuff that smells like you near where she stays.

In the wild, dogs do the same thing with herbivore feces. They’ll eat a few bites, and then roll in the feces to cover their scent with the herbivore’s. Since you most likely don’t have any cow-patties lying around the house, the dog is instinctively rolling in the strongest scent he can find. They may not smell strongly to you, but your dog’s nose is incredibly powerful.

Thank you, this helps me to understand.

No, OUR dogs are gay – they hump for supremacy. (They’re both neutered males, and they’re not serious, and neither am I, except that the bottom dog does use that to try to one-up the other. And yes, I know, that would make him the top. :))

I have to keep my laundry away from them because one of them loves to chew up socks, but with dogs, anything that smells like you is wonderful.

I had a cat who loved to lie in my dirty underwear. He didn’t get off on it, he just liked it. I guess it really smells like me after being right next to my body all day like that. He also humped towels.

Animals. Who knows.

I thought of something else… it isn’t just undies, it’s any under clothes at all… and… it’s JUST my female dog, not my two male dogs… that was the other reasoning behind her being a lesbian =)

She does hump the largest male dog, and if my partner or I get on the floor on our hands and knees she ALWAYS mounts us from behind and starts humping away.

I call her a pervert, but my partner insists it’s her way of showing love - she doesn’t know what she’s doing. She is missing the ‘equipment’ for that, and she was spayed as a pup.

Like you said, who knows… animals!

That doesn’t make your dog a lesbian (i.e. she’s into you, not other female dogs)… so that makes her… well whatever the animal-human equivalent of ‘beastiality’ is… erm, ‘humanality’… your dog is into interspecies sex… so she’s actually a pretty sick pervert.

Then don’t do that anymore!

That reminded me of the old joke where the patient tells the doctor, “It hurts when I do this,” and the doctor replies, “Then don’t do that anymore.”

lol… I know, but sometimes when I’m sitting on the couch my partner be kneeled in front of me, head on my lap and the dog just goes to it, EVERY TIME.

So, no one has any idea what would make the female dog do it but not the male? I have other friends who have said their female dogs did this too…

So, you are sitting on the couch, your partner is kneeling on the floor with her head in your lap  and you wonder why the dog starts feeling all sexy and decides to do some mountaineering?

I didn’t know female dogs hump, but I’ve never lived with dogs before moving in with these two guys.

A friend who runs a Golden rescue has a houseful of unadoptable dogs; one of them can’t be neutered because he has a aeortic defect, and a couple of weeks ago when I was watching their daughter, Elliott went for me with amorous intentions. He didn’t get very far, but imagine, I’m sitting on the sofa in the TV room and a large happy horny Golden rears up and puts his paws on either side of the sofa by my shoulders, leaning on me, and starts humping.

Eek. I’m not THAT desperate!

My two terrier pups (boy and girl) are quite eager in performing oral sex.

The boy (Brynner) got so excited once as to become fully aroused. I wasn’t there to witness it, but I heard that everything comes out. Freaked my wife out good.

It’s not about sex, it’s about dominance. You have a very status-minded dog. By humping the other members of her “pack” she is showing that she has a high status, much as the Alpha dog gets sexual priority.

If the other pets don’t fight her off, they are allowing her to dominate them, which, as long as she’s not mean to them, is fine. Animals have to sort out rank for themselves. With you, however, it’s different. If you don’t correct her for doing it to you, she’ll get inflated ideas of her status over the humans. Push her away and growl, “NO!”

For dogs with dominance issues, I have always seen it recommended to show her “who’s boss” in the following manner: Command her to lie down, and roll her over onto her back, and gently, but firmly, hold her into place until she stops struggling. After she gives up, hold her for a few seconds longer to make sure she gets the point and then release. Repeat procedure every time she seems to challenge you for dominance.

:snort:
It was completely innocent

I’m not an exhibitionist in the least :dubious:

Now this make total sense. She rules the roost, even though she’s the youngest and smallest (she’s 40 lbs, the other two males are over 100 lbs).

Once I had to leave them outside in the yard, they got caught in a rainstorm and it was really muddy and I didn’t want them coming in to the house that way - well, she sat like a queen inside the dog house, front paws hanging over the front door in the protection of the roof overhang - while the two male dogs sat right in front of her getting soaking wet… and their was plenty of room in there as it was a HUGE dog house.

They also let her think she’s in charge and dominant when playing. She’ll grab their cheek skin and just hold on, they act like a gnat has them at first, then they’ll fall over submissive on their backs and let her get on top and ‘pin’ them down. Neither ever get rough with her unless she gets a little too rough with them first.

Dominance makes perfect sense though, thank you!
