My local radio station WEBN (Cincinnati) is playing tribute music to Ozzy and is saying that he passed away earlier today from injuries sustained in the ATV crash. Google news doesn’t have anything yet, neither does anyone else that I can find. Can anyone confirm or deny?
Nothing on Reuters. Sounds like a distastful DJ stunt – here’s hoping anyway.
Ok, nevermind. they are now saying that they got bad info and he is still ok as far as they know. Sorry to disrupt your lives. Go about your business.

Ozzy Osbourne “dies” but lives to tell the tale
I saw on the news a day or two ago that he is back home. He was walking with a neck brace, and looked like hell. Of course, he looked like hell before the accident

Methinks this is comedy. First of all, Ozzy Osbourne’s real name is NOT Oswald Osbourne.
The “I died twice” quote comes from an interview Ozzy gave the Sunday Mirror (a British newspaper) The Sunday Mirror interviewed Ozzy at his house, and the article included pictures taken of Ozzy at home, wearing his neck brace. Story’s on the website, but doesn’t include pics.
To LifeOnWry’s post, his first name is John. and it doesnt appear to be incredibly serious either. Although I’ve spent time in hospital myself after sustaining “a squashed packet of Benson & Hedges”.
nasty.
in any case, Ozzy falls into the ‘unkillable’ category, inhabited by the likes of Keef Richards and Shane McGowan. plus others I can’t think of right now.
I’m putting money on the fact that he actually died several years ago. It’s the only explanation for his behaviour on ‘The Osbournes’.
And if you ask how he got away with it for so long - ‘Bubbles? Bubbles? I’m the prince of fXXking darkness me’. Surely that explains it.
Gee, ya think? It’s a parody site.
This isn’t a parody.
John Michael (Ozzy) Osbourne’s been dead since 1977 in an apparent heroin overdose.
He was replaced by the unemployed William Campbell (a McCartney look-alike contest winner) who had filled in for THE Beatles bassist from 1966-1976.
In early 1977, following the recovery of the real Paul McCartney; who had snapped out of a ten year long coma after crashing his MG into Bob Dylan’s Harley, Campbell had reconstructive surgery to fill in for the recently deceased Osbourne.
There are hundreds of clues that substantiate this rumor.
For example: On Black Sabbath’s 1978 Release, Never Say Die! the illustrative album title speaks volumes - and the album art cleary show’s Campell wearing a pilot’s mask.
If you don’t believe me, ask the other Dopers who are Black Sabbath/Ozzy fans. They can provide you will all the evidence you’ll need.
