Is Ritchie Blackmore serious, pulling our legs, or is there something wrong with him?

I stumbled upon thisinterview on YouTube. I know Ritchie Blackmore has gone slightly off the track since he was the rock’n’roll guitarist I admired as a teenager, but can he be serious in this interview, or is he pulling some shtick on us? If not, he must have gone half mad, has he not?

[QUOTE=Blackmore]
I think a lot about death, more than life, because we’re going towards death. And I think death is very important. I think it’s going to happen to all of us – most of us. Not all. Some of us might get away with it. It’s what Bob Dylan said. Bob Dylan came up to me once and he said: “Hey, who the hell are you?” A-and I kind of admired him for that…

I made it 5 1/2 minutes into that interview before closing it. I love Ritchie Blackmore, and Deep Purple. Ritchie has always had a reputation as being a disagreeable prick. I can forgive him that, as I don’t care about his personality.
His partner in this interview does not help his case.
