Is Shia LaBeouf considered hot or talented?

I’m mystified by the attention this kid gets, but I’m old. What’s your take on him?

I don’t know either, but after a quick image search, I can safely I wouldn’t mind looking like him.

He’s* kind of *got the bod going on, but his face does NOTHING for me. He gives off a “goofy dude” vibe, if you ask me.

I think he’s generically handsome.

Straight guy here so I can’t give a reliable opinion on his hotness but I do think he is talented and has the potential to have a great career.

Homer Simpson called him a nerd but in a nice-looking way. Or something along those lines

I think he’s a very good technical kind of actor. He doesn’t have an excess of charisma, but I like the stuff he’s done.

I am equally mystified.

I really can’t stand Shia LaBeouf. Ever since I saw this video I can’t take him seriously anymore either. His character in the Indiana Jones movie was horrible, although that movie sucked anyway. I didn’t like him in the Die Hard movie either.

Awesome. That’s EXACTLY how I feel about him. NO!

I think of him as the kid from Dumb & Dumberer, appearing with his mom in the extras: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3lSTx_Oa6lc

I can’t stand him either. He automatically makes movies worse.

Jeeeez…that was just horrible! He must give good producer head or something.

I think he looks like a 12-year-old. His appeal is as mystifying to me as Leonardo DiCaprio’s has always been.

I find Leonardo DiCaprio to be pretty damn hot AND talented, especially now that he’s older.

I will grant that he has talent, but his appearance still does nothing much for me. Around the time he appeared in Titanic, though, a lot of women seemed to be very swoony over him, which I really didn’t get, as to me he looked prepubescent.

I’ll agree with you there. He was too young to be hot in that flick (for the older set, anyway). However, he got a heartfelt, audible sigh out of me when he was in the prison scene in The Departed.

Just a WAG here, but I suspect somewhere along the line someone said, “Oh, he’s hot!” In earshot of a producer or media outlet. They, of course, wanting the new ‘hot’ thing, promoted him, which made other outlets realize that, of course, he -was- ‘hot’ (because other outlets said so), and thus the snowball rolled…
Wow, that was a heck of a run-on sentance there. But you get the idea; he’s like tulips. People going crazy over him because other people are going crazy over him.

He’s rather ordinary looking, which is fine, and his acting is nothing special. Why he’s being crammed down our throats I don’t know.

He reminds me of a young Tom Cruise. Not very talented, but a good screen presence.
