Until you are forced to read the jerk’s posts, I think you are wrong! Isn’t arrogance great? 
People always go off on this “not forced to read anyone’s posts” angle, but that’s not the point. I can choose to read someone’s posts, and still think they are a jerk and complain about them. That’s the nature of message boards. Free exchange and all that. One cannot be a jerk without an observer, after all.
