Is the mail slow?

Maybe this is IMHO, but perhaps there is a factual answer.

I am expecting a letter that was mailed from San Diego on Monday 1st. It hasn’t arrived yet. Normally it should take no more than three days. One possible factor is that I live in Birch Bay. According to the Post Office, mail should be addressed to Blaine. However I do receive my mail that is addressed to Birch Bay, so that shouldn’t be an issue.

Is mail moving slowly because of the holiday season or some other reason?

I’m not a knowledgeable post office person, but that person will probably want to know how the letter was mailed, I assume regular 42-cent First Class?

Mail is weird, sometimes it takes a week to get across the state, but it can get to Texas in a couple days.
