Ya, a woman who’s just older and happens to be dating a younger man is just a normal person. The whole age debate is silly in general, people click with whoever they click with.
Stiffler’s Mom and Mrs. Robinson were both seducers/predatory/etc. so I’m assuming my definition of cougar is the one the OP was expecting the thread to go by. 
I think whoever said sex is more mainstream. That and then American Pie popularizing “MILF.”
I remember telling my friends that this one lady was sexy and they were telling me that’s gross because she was older. Now everyone is talking about getting with older women.
