I’m not sure they’re getting special treatment. I read through the thread a while ago and I think someone may have broken a rule and got very mildly chastised (rules were explained, etc.). I think if anything they’re more eager than a lot of longtime posters to follow the rules/be good Straight Dope citizens. And hey, if they never make it out of their thread, that’s fine, too.
The scary thing is they ARE telling us how they really feel.

Can’t get on board with the OP. I like them. Not sure I understand their particular bend, but I sometimes go into the thread and read, trying to see the appeal. I don’t quite get it, but find it interesting that they do.
I seriously wish they’d branch out a little into other topics, but I think it will just take time. I’m sure they’ll get around to that when they are feeling more comfortable. I’m looking forward to it!
And seriously, how tightly wound was their former board that they found these conversations so terribly offensive? I’m glad they found us, and happy they have a comfortable home with us.
That both Barn House and Chicago, got their own damn boards, for years, now THAT was a failed experiment!
Really! Unless the boards were bought by the Home Shopping Network. Hmmm, who owns Television Without Pity these days? NBCUniversal? They don’t seem to own any shopping channels. Another CT bites the dust.

Just an FYI, the other board is not TWOP. TWOP closed their forums in May. The other board is Previously.tv.com. Most of the posters on the shopping channel forum at Previously, arrived there after TWOP shut down.
Canada, where half of them speak French, and the other half allow it to happen.
I see that some of our regular dopers have posted in their snark thread, and I see that some of them have posted outside of their thread as well. It’s not as completely segregated as the OP states.
They were all jerks, too, and this crowd seems nice, but I am not sure that this precedent will be good for the board in the long run. What’s next, a thread for RVers snarking about Jellystone Parks?
There hasn’t been a post in the main thread since 7/30/15. The group seemed to have found another forum to meet on. Could the “glossary” thread get unpinned?
They’ve moved on, so should everyone else. (Although it does seem we gained a few regulars as a result.)

I don’t know where the other folks hared off to, but it certainly appears that they have. So unless Honey (who brought us all here) objects, I think you can close it up without hurting anyone’s feelings.
