I was watching a video game TV show the other day (don’t remember which one… Electric Playground, I think) and I saw a preview(?) for Call of Duty 2: The Big Red One.
Anyhoo, they actually used most of the actors for the game, including voices, and even motion-capturing those specific actors from Band of Brothers to use in the game.
It’s only for the X-Box though… I’m not sure how different it is in comparison to the computer version of CoD2… And a quick google tells me “this sequel follows the gritty realism and desperate comradery of the PC edition in an entirely different console game, with unique characters, gameplay and missions.” So, unless your friend has an X-Box too, they may be out of luck… Though many of the first Call of Duty games (and it’s add-ons) have missions pretty much lifted directly from Band Of Brothers (not to mention Saving Private Ryan, Enemy at the Gates, and myriad other war movies)
Bah! Ignore the “kind of vague” in my post… It was originally quite vague (I’d forgotten the show’s name, the game’s name, and what system it was for) But I did a little research to fix that.
Nope, your first campaign is as a private in an American company, the second campaign has you as a sergeant in a British commando squad (starting with the Pegasus bridge glider attack from The Longest Day), and the third campaign is as a Russian conscript (you rise in the ranks until you become a sergeant of some sort)
Then there is a bonus campaign where you play one mission each as American, British, and Russian points of view towards the end of the war.
