The popbitch poster who posted this originally is usually pretty reliable (It was him who named John Leslie first). THis gave the story credence.

I heard about it. I admit that I can’t remember exactly what the rumor WAS, as I am not particularly interested in the people involved, but I read an article about the whole debacle, and Popbitch being sued, at the BBC website.
I’d read the denial of the rumour, but don’t know what the rumour is. I would check out astro’s link, but am not interested enough to do so.
The rumour itself is quite anodyne, its more the fact that EVERYONE I knew “knew” this as fact within a day of it being on popbitch (which is takin a diplomatic holiday at the moment).
Can anyone think of any others?

Me! I honestly have no idea what it is, nor any real desire to find out. I vaguely heard mention of it on the radio, but they were probably avoiding saying anything that would get them sued, and I wasn’t paying much attention anyway.
But now I’m afraid to read the rest of the thread less someone gives it away.

That’s nothing. The fact that his people are so gung-ho about it is more suspicious than the rumor itself.
Frankly, I don’t care if his wife (allegedly!!!) left him or not, but the secrecy around all of this makes a rather dull story seem much more interesting, and thus worth repeating.
