Is there a Tom Lehrer song that isn't on any of his albums?

I seem to remember that one of his songs isn’t on any of his albums, but I can’t recall which one.

Do you mean his original 1950s/1960s albums, or does that include later compilations? “I Got it from Agnes” and “That’s Mathematics” only appear on compilations, as well as his songs for The Electric Company.

I’ve got those. This one is supposedly one he wrote that someone else sang.

Found it! “The SAC Song” sung by Rod Taylor in the movie “A Gathering Of Eagles”.

Do you have “the physical review”? It’s the recording of a show he and two other physics section leaders did for their students when he was a grad student at Harvard. I think he wrote all the lyrics.

It was recorded on a wire, before tapes were invented. Chilled are out on the internet, but the sound quality is pretty terrible.

The only part I remember is:

“After all’s been said, math is way ahead
I can do research lying in my bed
It’s true, it’s true …”

Did this updated 1997 version appear on any albums?

Not sure about this one either, from the same appearance:

The Subway Song wasn’t on any of his original albums. Rumor had it that he thought is was too local to be of wide interest. Tom Lehrer - The Subway Song - YouTube

Then there’s this classic - that does not have a single dirty word in it! Tom Lehrer - I got it from Agnes | SUB ITA - YouTube

(I’m Spending) Hanukkah in Santa Monica

That’s the one I’m thinking of. Agnes and Santa Monica are both on compilation albums.
Isaac Asimov printed the lyrics to the subway song at the beginning of the second volume of his first autobiography, which is where I first heard it. Since I used the Red Line when I was at MIT, I particularly liked this one.

Aside from The SAC song, you can find all of these on more recent compilations of Lehrer’s stuff.

Here’s one that hasn’t been mentioned – Tom Lehrer singing about the new decimal British currency on the David Frost show

It has some resemblance to his song “New Math”

Here’s a transcription of the lyrics

Lehrer also wrote songs for the American version of That Was the Week That Was. Some of those were compiled into his That Was the Year That Was album, of course. I also have a CD that has some highlights from the TV series, including a couple songs that were recaps of news items from the week the show aired; but I don’t know if Lehrer had a hand in creating those songs, or if he did other work for the show that didn’t make it onto the album.

There was a radio DJ in Seattle in the late-'80s/early-'90s who would play one novelty song every morning, and that’s where I first heard I Got it From Agnes. That song hadn’t been officially released at the time; never did find out where he might have gotten it.

This website claims to list three of his songs that were never released. I have no idea if that’s wrong. Incidentally, In 2020 Lehrer donated all his music and lyrics to the public domain:
