I’ve been trying to sign up for weeks; I managed to create an account, but was only able to login once. Now it keeps asking me to validate my phone number, but keeps insisting my phone number is invalid. It won’t let me move past this or even see anything on my account. The Help Center isn’t any help, I’ve tried asking for help through it, but never get a response. The only I can fine is the physical address of HQ in Menlo Park, and am almost at the point of writing a letter. It’s really frustrating.
Is it asking to validate the phone number by sending you a text (or push notification) with a code? (You can’t move forward, if that’s the case & you’re using a landline.)
I’ve tried that, all account recovery does is let me reset my password. The problem isn’t my password; it’s that Facebook is requiring a mobile number, but insisting my mobile number is invalid.
At this point I’d sign up again and not give them your mobile number at all. After all the data leaks, the less information FB has, the better. Personally I didn’t even give them my real birthdate, what I gave is close but not my exact birthdate.
Just because Facebook asks you for information doesn’t mean you should give it to them. They used to ask for your email login so they could harvest your address book! Don’t do that.
