Is there a way to re-install a Steam game without the same mods you had before?

If it helps, I’m running Steam on a Mac… OS X 10.10.2

I had trouble starting up Kerbal Space Program with the mods I had, but it was hard to keep track of which mods were incompatible, so I thought I’d try for a clean re-install. I deleted all local content for KSP, had Steam re-download the game. And all the same mods as before are in the new install - apparently Steam keeps track, for which, kudos to them! But not great for what I want to do.

Does anyone know if there’s a way to download the vanilla version without the mods?

Delete the Kerbal Space Program file from the Steam directory before downloading it again. If you don’t delete the directory it stays there with all the mods you added in.
