Is there a weather site that will "back cast" as well as forecast?

I live near LA and we’ve just been in a minor heat wave. I got curious about how high the temperature actually got so I went on Weather.com. Couldn’t find a thing. There were lots of charts and graphs as to what might happen in the future, even down to hour-by-hour excruciating detail. But as to what the temperature got up to this afternoon - not a clue. Deciding that the site must have been designed by some new-age “never live in the past” type, I googled up Accuweather. Same story. Ditto Qwickcast and about half a dozen others. Am I the only one who would like to know how hot it was today? Or how much rain we had this past month? Or does this explain those big pods that are growing in my garden?

At Weather.com, go to your local forecast by entering your city/state or your ZIP code. Then click on “Month” at the right side of the gold bar near the top of the page. You will get a calendar of this month, showing the recorded temperature highs and lows and the precipitation for the days past, and the forecast for the days ahead. Click on “Previous Month” at the top left of the calendar for see last month’s data.

Thanks, Walloon. I am greatly reassured.

The “Weather Underground” website also has an archive of observed conditions for most U.S. locations.
