I was coming here to post a link to the CIA world factbook, but since I’m too late can I add.
Are there any other good free resources, especially with good quality atlas graphics, for world info?

I have not found anything that has let me put my print atlases aside.

Multi Map comes the closest in terms of general topography and decent road maps.

Online World Atlas is not too bad, but it does not really beat the CIA maps.

For the U.S., the Microsoft Terraserver provides topographical maps and aerial photographs while MapQuest provides road maps and aeriel photographs.

BALI and INDONESIA on the Net has a latitude/longitude finder with a great circle distance calculator.
