Is there any music, film, or TV show we ALL would agree is terrible?

When I pulled it up on YouTube, the image looked like a boxed set. I wondered “What, is there a second disc with a 5.1 remix?” :winking_face_with_tongue:

Yoko Ono may deserve copious amounts of hate, but her Hell In Paradise video is pretty cool.

Holy shit! I just had an epiphany about the clip of Yoko supposedly ruining Chuck Berry’s “Memphis”. That song is about a man fruitlessly searching for his estranged daughter. The EXACT SAME THING happened to Yoko and her daughter in real life. Her wailing imparts the horror of that situation better than Berry ever could.

found a copy that hasn’t been scrubbed yet. https://www.instagram.com/reel/DKIp4N8zwPS/?hl=en while she was doing this the sound engineer cut her mike for the rest of the performance.

De gustibus non est disputandum and all that, but Yoko’s poor imitation of a turkey gobbling does not impart a sense of horror to me about having an estranged child. It imparts exactly the same sense of horror I feel whenever Yoko insisted on “singing.”

Many years ago, my brother saw a copy of MMM on vinyl at a record store, and showed it to the clerk and said, “If this ever gets on CD, we’ll know the apocalypse is nigh” and the clerk laughed.

Yeah. It’s been released on CD.

Never having been either a Lou Reed or Metallica fan, I’ve seen their collaboration on a lot of “worst of” lists over the years.

I started a thread about “Turn On” when I found it on YouTube.

As for atonal “music”, a few years ago, I was watching a local PBS station’s broadcast of the All-State Music Festival (for HS kids) and the band director obviously had a thing for the atonal. I couldn’t figure out, from what little I actually listened to, how they could have known if they were playing it right or wrong.

As for music, I’m surprised no one has mentioned The Shaggs.

I had a similar experience. When albums were being reissued on CD, my friends and I used to wonder if everything would eventually be reissued by someone. The debate seemed to center on Metal Machine Music and Shatner’s The Transformed Man.

A friend did find MMM on vinyl and bought it; in good condition, apparently. He duped it onto a 90 minute cassette for another friend. Side A of the tape had sides 1, 2, and 3 of the vinyl. Side B had 4, with the infinity groove playing over and over to fill the 45 minutes.

Said friend also put a cover of MMM on.a mix tape for me. A cappella, they got through the first 45 seconds before giving up

Now I notice that this one has not been nominated yet, neither in the “good song” nor in the “terrible” thread. The internet is changing.

I came to say Caillou. Even the Celtling complained that he was too whiny.

Dunno. ‘Santa Claus Has Got The Aids’ was a pretty big hit this past holidays at our house.

Amen.

Someone (you?) linked to them in one of these threads. I pity the whole situation there more than I dislike the actual music.

A lot of notable musicians lauded the Shaggs about 30 years ago. It may have been ironic but in the 1990s you could never really tell.

Oh my God I hate Blippi. Fortunately my son’s obsession with him lasted only a few weeks. This asshole makes $23 million a year for the most low-effort pseudo-educational videos I have ever seen. It’s very clear they didn’t involve the slightest bit of planning, he will just find a kid’s play area and wander around randomly pointing out that things have colors. And when he fucks up, he doesn’t even do a second take! And he has this horrible blatantly unnatural laugh.

$23 million god damned dollars a year.

Ms. Rachel smokes that motherfucker.

Unwatchable movie: Solarbabies (1986). I challenge you to sit through all 94 minutes of it. Doing other distracting activities while watching, doesn’t count. Neither does napping and waking throughout.

Wow… This is my first actual firsthand encounter with Ono’s… Hm, I can’t call it “singing”… “Vocal performance”, perhaps?

It really is as bad as they say. She even looks like she’s in pain.

As far as movies go, I haven’t heard anyone say a single good thing about Melania.

According to many sources, the Melania movie has barely sold any tickets ahead of premiere. That’s a good thing.
