Is there any way to make Internet Explorer open windows in Max size?

I want my IE6 windows open to Max size automatically.
When they are not, every time I reach for the scroll bar it shrinks the window instead, and sometimes I hit the window below.

I’m set to “remember window sizes and positions”, but that only seems to work on non-Max sizes.

I have Regedit if the answer is to use that.

I had the same problem. I found this freeware and it works just fine.

Several remedies for this problem were discussed in an earlier thread.

Thanks Mr. Blue Sky -
Your utility works great. I posted it on the other thread so the people who might have asked for emailed updates to that would get the answer as well.

Forget the utility. Forget IE completely and go get Opera: http://www.opera.com/
You get everything, browser, email, spam-filter and popup-blocker included. It bills itself as “The fastest browser on earth.” and I am not inclined to doubt it. Each window comes in a pane, and it even supports fullscreen and mouse gestures (once you use them you will never want to change). Best of all: It is fully functional free of charge.

Ditto, ditto, and ditto!

re: Opera suggestion,

I dont get any spam or pop-up ads at all. And I dont even know what you mean by full-screen or mouse gestures.
(although I do get spam on my Yahoo)

So I’m not really inclined to change at this time.

Great stuff! It eliminates a total pain in the ass IE feature, in addition to conserving time and clicks  Thanks.

Try Avant Browser, it’s a free tabbed browser add-on for Internet Explorer, and you can open new windows in the background, maximized, with the mouse wheel. It also has a cool function of opening “Groups” of favorites, so I can open every SDMB with just one mouse click.

The main link is here but it’s down right now, so I think you can also download it here
