I have no interest whatsoever.
I have seen it twice. The last time was in 1983. The Redskins were playing. I only know that because I was visiting a friend in D.C. and we watched the game with her family. According to Wikipedia they won.
I gave up football fandom a few seasons back when I became aware of the NFL’s brain damage problem. My wife’s boss has a Super Bowl party every year which I used to attend with her, but the boss’ house has big-screen TVs both upstairs and down, and there’s nowhere there to get away from the damned game, so I don’t go anymore.
My wife’s taking the Firebug with her, so I’ll have a quiet evening at home. Yay!!
the commercials can be funny. not worth watching a game for if it isn’t to your liking.
go team.
It’s going on 34 years since I last watched a Super Bowl (and skipped them for several years before that).
I’ll watch it the next time the Jets are in it, so I won’t be watching again in my lifetime.
I’d be very interested if it were possible for both teams to lose.
As it is, I will DVR it so I can fast forward through the game to the commercials.
Couldn’t careless and have no idea who is playing
Less than zero. I gave up on football over 30 years ago. When a one-hour game takes over four hours to complete, it’s in desperate need of an editor.
Take your facts back to Wales where they belong.
Yessss!
Don’t care about the Super Bowl or football even one little bit. I would, however, go to a Super Bowl party if the food were exceptional.
I only watch college football. The Pros are boring to me.
I can think of much better ways to waste four hours of my life, thanks.
I’ll enjoy the game and the ads, but they pale in comparison to the annual SDMB “Fuck the Super Bowl” thread(s). Great tradition. This is thread XII.
Nope. Could not care less. Never watched a televised football game in my life.
If you’re a guy who’s not interested in sports and you haven’t seen the “Dudes-n-Bros Talking Points” commercial, you need to:
If the 49ers or Raiders are in it, I care a little bit because my neighbors are so excited and maybe there will be a party and everyone is hyped. Other teams, its just sit around and hope for good commercials. Oh, and my Dad likes to bet on the game.
I know it’s a big business with lots of money on the line, but it’s only a game. You should never care too much about a game.
I like the haiku.
I actively loathe American football, and believe it will disappear within 20 years, just because it is so dangerous.
lol
The NFL is dependent on college football, which is dependent on high school football, which is dependent on Pop Warner football. And I see fewer and fewer parents pushing their children to play a game with such a high level of risk, and fewer high schools being willing to assume the risk on their behalf, preferring to play the sort of football they do in the rest of the world - you know, the one that very rarely produces quadriplegics.
