I stopped paying attention to email notifications if someone replied to your thread, or quoted you, or posted in a thread you posted in because a third of them would not arrive, a third went to spam, and the third that came to my inbox were just overwhelming hundreds and hundreds of emails.
Is there some way on the board to keep track of these things? I wasn’t able to log in for a few days and now I have to go hunting down any threads I posted or were interested in.
Click on “User control panel”, top left of the page. If you are getting emails, you are prabaly subscribed to the threads you post in, and they all appear there.
You can click on the search button and go to advanced search, then search on all posts by your own user name. You’ll want to limit the search to the last few days to be kind to the hamsters (and to get your results much more quickly). All of the threads that you posted in during the search period will show up in the results, and you can quickly look for any threads that don’t have your name as the last person who posted in the thread to see which ones have replies after yours.
Near the top of the page is a blue toolbar with the first entry being “User CP”. That’s the Control Panel. Open that page.
Scroll down the left list to “Edit Options”. Open that link.
Under “Messaging & Notification”, the second box is “Default Thread Subscription Mode”.
The setting box has the following options:
Do not subscribe
No email notification
Instant email notification
Daily email notification
Weekly email notification
You apparently have one of the email notifications selected. Reading that list, it appears that anything other than “Do not subscribe” will automatically subscribe you to your threads that you post in.
Therefore, if you go to the main User CP page, you should see a list of subscribed threads. (You should see them when you opened User CP above.) The default is to show new threads, i.e. posts since you last visited the board, whatever that means. Under that will be a link to “Show all subscribed threads”. You can click that and it will update with all threads you are subscribed to since the beginning of time, or whenever you started subscribing to threads - one of those.
If you are ignoring the emails anyway, you might consider changing your setting to No email notification. You can always just check User CP.
I turned off email notification and simply use the User CP link in the top left. That window shows all your subscribed threads that have new posts.
You could always click on Quick Links then Subscribed Threads. This doesn’t work if you have Javascript disabled.
