Don’t worry it’s not illegal. Having seen Aro’s quiz question I followed the link to the thread and have spent the evening racking my brains over some of the questions. Now I’d like to do something similar for the forum, but I notice that it has already been done by a Doper who was banned. Some people have already raised comments that my punctuation style resembles this Doper’s (alas, it’s the way I’ve done for 20 odd years) and I’m worried that if I do something similar, the conspiracy Dopers will leap up and down and say that I am him 
So is anyone liable to object to this?
I can’t comment as I have no idea what you are talking about. I would doubt that a persons punctuation style would get them banned anyway.

Some people therefore are worried I am Doper X back again.
I want to do a quiz for the forum, but Doper X did one too.
If I do one, some people will be convinced I am Doper X.

A) Because of the Aspie’s,I’ve ended up being temporarily banned from another forum for something I said that upset someone that I didn’t realize
B) I use a big cybercafe where all the computers have the same IP-one that has been flagged before for bad behavior
C) A couple of Dopers have commented my punctuation style is similar to someone who got banned
D) A couple of times when I’ve tried to get in, it’s come up that I am not allowed to access my account and hasn’t let me in until about the 3rd attempt
E) The voices tell me you all want me to leave and they’re usually right. If I go against what they say, they’ll get all angry and start controlling my brainwaves again :rolleyes:
I think your worries are justified. Yes, it would be safer never to post again. That way your enemies (and they are legion!) will be unable to gather (er, manufacture) any further evidence that would result in your banning.

How do you know about my enemies? Some of them are only visible to me. Others cannot see or hear them…
If you are that worried about it then why bother? If you have to ask then don’t do it.

If you are genuinely not a returning sock puppet for a banned poster
and if you are concerned that you will be mistaken for that poster
and if you have questions regarding how appropriate a specific thread might be,
THEN,
your best bet would be to e-mail and administrator, indicating who you are and your concerns.
That way, you will not get any inadvertantly bad advice from someone not on the staff.
Of course, if you are a returning sock, . . .

I’ve read several of the threads that you have started, and based on the reasons you posted above, I can understand your concern.
You seem to really want to talk to people. If so, this can be a good place for it. But if you are concerned that starting a quiz thread may lead to some misunderstandings, you might want to hold back for a little while. Spend some more time participating in threads here. Let people get to know you a bit. Then, when you do post your spectacular quiz thread, we can all sit back and enjoy it.
Don’t the powers use IP addresses in helping determine who is a sock of a banned poster?
So unless the banned poster uses the same PC as you…

As to the OP: you seem like good folks, and I think you’d be a fine Doper. If you have doubts, then you should definitely either wait to hear back from the Mod or Admin you emailed or wait until you’ve been around a while and have a history here. I mean, really, if you’re a worry wart, why start the thread now, and give yourself something else to worry about?

IB- I think you should come to Australia if you are worried about oddball behaviour. You would be deemed normal here.
