It sounds as if tomorrow is the last day for Iraq.
Iraq is not giving up, so it looks as if we are going to war sometimes this week.
This isn’t really a thread for debate, just a thread for thought.
Well, tomorrow is the day when we shit or get off the pot. We could announce tomorrow that we’ll invade Iraq next January. Or we could announce that Iraq must turn over X items by X date or we start bombing. Really, a whole lot of nothin’, so far as I’m concerned about their press conference.
17 March has been a stated deadline for a while (for Iraq)…there were also some news reports (British tabloids, though, as I remember) that commanders had been told the war would begin on the 18th.
Rats. Well. I better make sure I get my new base pass on Monday or I won’t be allowed to go to work on Tuesday…
And Wednesday the Statue of Liberty gets blown up…but we won’t mind because it’s French. 
I’m scheduled to fly to the UK tomorrow night. I’m a bit nervous now…

I’m thinking Wednesday. I know that Hussein could choose to disarm, or could choose exile, but I don’t believe he’ll choose either.
Nah, not any time soon, Bush and company are going to be busy all day filling out their NCAA brackets for the White House pool.
Unless they want to piss off even more of our former allies, the US’ll have to give the UN inspectors a day or two to clear out. If not, they’ll make for great human shields.

Safe money (from the folks I know downtown) is Wednesday or Thursday. Monday and Tuesday being givent o make sure US citizens in the area get get.
But we could get jumpy and just move.

I hope it is quick. I leave for China in August. I’ll go either way, but it’d be nice to have the war behind us.
I think the 22nd is a new moon. (Possibly the 21st). I bring this up, because I’m guessing that the military will use the darker sky to start an air assault and start the war.
According to multiple sources, Kofi Annan has ordered all UN workers to leave Iraq immediately. Drudge says the inspectors are already packing their bags. So, it looks like Bush is giving them the three-day window after all…but it does mean that the hammer has already fallen.
