Not entirely. And I’ve always harbored the notion that “NEVER AGAIN” was informed not only by the statement “This obscenity was perpetrated against our people once; therefore, NEVER AGAIN”, but also by “This kind of behavior was an obscenity, and will always be one, no matter the perpetrators, no matter the victims; therefore, NEVER AGAIN”.
Not as a promise to rescue the world, but one to support those who find themselves with the task of doing so, and to oppose and confound any future would-be perpetrators, at least.
