Israel ! stay the hell away from EU

i guess that we should stick to the topic from now on

Hail Naxox, equal opportunity bigot.

Anyways, Naxox, how in the world would a big powerful Jewish lobby come to dominate Norway if Israel became a member of the EU (which isn’t going to happen anyway)? Italy’s a member and I don’t see Catholics dominating you black metal listening mutherhumpers.

And what, pray tell, do you fear this Jewish lobby is going to do?

Its just incredible. The Jews are conspiring to dominate Norway? Maybe I’m missing something. This is ridiculous, isn’t it?

Waverly wrote:

With all due respect, I do not agree.
If a poster feels that he has been wrong. (Note the word “if”, I do not want to put any words in Naxox’ mouth.)
What is the use of the discussion, if he can not change his mind to the better?

Still, Monty, put in Google the words: “Duma Russia news” and You get about 147.000 cites in the English language which are using the name “duma”.

Why Monty Called Henry An Asshole

Henry says:

And Monty says:

And he has a point–it does sound like Henry believes that the EU controls the Russian Parliament.

And then Henry says:

Henry, you wrote that the EU controls the Russian parliament. He doesn’t need to rephrase anything–it’s right there.

And then it sounded extremely condescending and insulting for you to instruct Monty, “Btw., it’s called ‘duma’, but that does not matter, I understood what You meant by Russia’s parliment”, especially since you yourself had referred to it, twice, as “parliament”, not “duma”.

Which is why Monty called you an asshole.

Henry, your sig says “From Siberia with love.” Under “Location”, next to your name, it says “Russia”. Monty may perhaps be forgiven for not knowing that you are of Finnish descent, and for assuming that by referring to “our parliament”, you were talking about the Russian Parliament.

Carry on.

Duck Duck
As I have read in different posts, the posters are assumed to read through the thread before they post.
I do not know if You agree to this or not, but there is a whole thread about it, and more or less everybody agreed on this.

Anyhow,
I can not begin every post with: “Hi I live in Russia, but I am a Finn.”
I think it is enough if I post it in one post in a thread where it is significant to know.

Henry -

To address a minor point of English grammar in a spirit of good fellowship, to be washed down with a swig of your finest Fanta soda (if you prefer):

The pronoun “you” need be capitalized only if it begins a sentence. For example:

“You are a Russo-Finn.”

Example of incorrect usage: “It’s hard to understand what You are trying to say.”

Example of correct and incorrect usage in the same sentence: “You will drive us all crazy if You do not make sense with your rantings.”

Next week: adverbs.

Well, you could always change your sig line to “From Russia with sticky Finnish sauna love,” or something…

No. I’m calling him an asshole because all of his posts so far prove he’s an asshole.

My god. This kid’s bj0rn on steroids.

On Sunday, I crossed the Taba border crossing from Eilat, Israel to Taba, Egypt. There was no magical change in Africa to Asia. The Dead Sea Fault cannot be used as a divider because IIRC it extends into Africa where it makes the Great Rift Valley. It stretches up and runs along the middle of Israel where it forms Maktesh Ramon (the Ramon Crater) and then the Dead Sea.

The Dead Sea Fault runs under the Gulf of Aqaba and I believe probably crosses over into the land in the gap between the Nabotean hills of Jordan and the Eilat Mountains of Israel. This probably puts it between Aqaba and Eilat, which are about 1 km apart. The stretch from Taba to Aqaba over Eilat is about 3 km, so we are really splitting hairs.

I had heard Netanyahu’s and Katsav’s statements about the EU. I think joining the EU or NATO would be a wonderful deus ex machina solution for Israel’s current worries, and I think that both NATO or the EU could benefit from it as well. Israel won’t withdraw from Palestinian territories because of their issues with security, but a mutual protection pact (whether military with NATO or economic with the EU) could ensure that Israel could take a lot more risks since it would have a big brother willing to step in for it. They could withdraw, and if the next day 6 Arab countries invaded, they could be reasonably sure to have serious backup. NATO could benefit from Israeli support in European missions and from serious intelligence, and the EU could benefit from Israel’s strong tech sector and cheap labor (if a finalized peace treaty is worked out). That said, I don’t think there is a snowball’s chance in hell of it actually happening.

Monty took one sentence and DDG three sentences.

Just To page 3, which Monty referred to:

If someone can’t understand from this that I am a Finn, I can not help.

Hi Jackmannii!

We can form a Fanta-club or something.

You see, my usage of the pronoun You, with a capital letter, has an explanation:
In business-letters You write the 2nd plural form with a capital letter. It is polite to do so, and an English habit from at least 17th century.
I am just polite toward You.
I know that in America the 2nd plural lost, more or less it’s meaning. I also understand that this is not a business letter, but as I said, I want to be polite.
I also write everything else as, with all my abilities, English like they do in England; harbour, neighbour etc.

I once read that the phrase: “I was mad about my flat”, has two meanings, depending where You are speaking English.
Anyhow, I believe we understand each other, even if some American phrases may not be so clear to me.

And I am looking forward to Your next course about adverbs. (Those has always been a problem for me).

Henry (born in Finland to Finnish-Swedish parents and therefore have Swedish as mother language, but understands also the other Nordic countries languages, with an exception of the langauge spoken in Iceland. Furthermore, was punished by God and some evil teachers to learn Latin at the age of 11, which is happily forgotten, able to read German and Estonian, and speak and read Russian. But has no blood relations to the last mentioned languages.
Furthermore wants Finland to be independent from different blocks, sounds and is a little bit crazy, but is quite harmless.)

Thank You for reading.

Well, Henry, your “mastery” of the English language is anything but so it’s not surprising at all those of us who aren’t illiterate have a rough time deciphering exactly what you’re tying to say.

That is, deciphering what else besides your antisemitism you’re tyring to convey.

Our friend, HenryB hasn’t said anything anti-semitic. I am enjoying what he had added to this discussion very much by the way.

The OP, naxox, on the other hand is a babbling fool and probably an antisemite. I wish very much he would answer the questions that I posed a few posts back but I fear that he lacks the fortitude.

Haj

I’m talking about EU

Want to convey to the rest of us where Henry convey’s Anti-Semitism?

They’ll have to stand in line behind the Cypriot lobby.

Eu talking about me?

Are Eu talking about me!?

What are eu saying about me? Are eu laughing at me? Eu think I am funny? But, I’m funny how? Funny like a clown? I amuse you? I make you laugh? I’m here to fuckin’ amuse you?

Fenris

PS: Argumentum ad Fontsize doesn’t win arguments or friends. Just a hint for eu.

You DO NOT UNDERSTAND how much weight is given here at the SDMB to what’s in a person’s sig, and what’s in a person’s Location. We have over 28,000 registered members here–it isn’t realistic, or fair, to expect everyone to simply remember where everyone else is coming from in terms of race, religion, sex, or national origin. It isn’t fair to expect someone reading a thread to somehow deduce from a couple of references to Finnish agriculture and Finnish politics in a single earlier post that that poster is therefore Finnish.

Now if you had a history of always taking the Finnish slant on things, that would be different. We would all be more or less aware that HenryB is Finnish but he lives in Russia. But so far you have very consistently taken the Russian slant on things. “Here in Russia…” etc.

I only happened to remember that you were Finnish because you mentioned it a long time ago, and that’s the kind of trivia-friendly mind I have, and so I understood that your remarks about Finnish agriculture were not the incomprehensible blatherings of a Russian posting from Russia. Because if you read that post as coming from a Russian, it makes no sense.

<< makes mental note not to try to help Henry anymore >>
