I recently bowed to pressure and installed Windows 11 on my desktop. No problems on my end. Pretty seamless.
But my sister has a Chromebook that used to be able to print from using my printer. Now, she can’t, and the only thing I can see that’s different is W11.
Is this printer physically wired to the Windows PC? A wireless printer would have probably been directly accessed by the Chromebook and the Windows change wouldn’t have mattered.
If the printer is wired to the PC, the Windows update may have turned off printer sharing.
When is the last time she tried to print anything from her Chromebook? I ask because Google cloud printing, which is what we had to use to print from the Chromebooks in our district, has gone away along with Google Account manager. At home, I used to print to the printer connected to my desktop but, to do so, I had to leave my Google browser open on the desktop.
She’s even more computer illiterate than me, so she can’t remember if she had her Google browser (heh, she said “What? You mean the internet?” Ha) open or not. I’ll have her try it.
