So I’m trying to sync some songs to my MP3 player, and for some reason, Windows Media Player keeps telling me, “Connect a Device”. And yet, my Sansa player IS connected. It’s hooked up to the USB port, just like I always do. I tried restarting my computer several times-and still no response. What the FUCK is wrong with you, you piece of shit?
Fuck, fuck, fuck. I had a shitty day at work today, I don’t NEED anymore of this stupid shit!
Woot, I get to help somebody with a problem. I’ve got a sansa as well, and I was having a problem with mine last night. I’m just using the drag and drop option with mine. I had it hooked up, Sansa says connected, but not showing up ANYWHERE on the damn computer. I ended up goign into the settings on the mp3 player and changing the usb connection to MSC. Don’t know what the hell that stands for, or why it would make a difference, but when I hooked it back up, computer pops up and says new device recognized, and it popped up as a new drive. Open it up and load it to go. Hope this helps you out man. And for what it’s worth, Sansa makes some sweet ass players, once you get them to talk to your puter that is.
I had this problem, and did the same. Now I can dump .mp3s on it again, but I haven’t found a way to get the “Sansa Media Player” to admit that it’s connected, so no video for me anymore.
Ah well, I want to get me a little Creative jobby that’s more suitable for video, anyway.
Check the USB Settings in the setup menu of the Sansa. You have a choice of MTP, MSC and (if it is a newer model) “Automatic”.
To sync with Windows Media Player, the setting should be “MTP”, which stands for “Music Transfer Protocol”. “Automatic” should work as well, but you never know.
MSC stands for “Mass Storage Class” and will mount the Sansa as a drive in Windows Explorer. In this mode it does not support sync with Windows Media Player.
Your printer has no paper in the tray that is meant to hold letter-size paper.
Also, I once angrily and dramatically slammed my laptop closed to prove a point, only to realize seconds later that the little wireless mouse I was using was now inside said $2000 machine.
Thanks-I’ll have to give it a whirl the next time I have a problem. Fortunately, like I said, I finally got it working. Who knows? Seriously, I appreciate it.
Damn fucking straight. I love my player, but it’s hell on wheels sometimes getting it to connect.
I recently had the same problem with my cell phone with the added bonus that the phone side connector is proprietary so I could not find a replacement. These cables, like those of headsets, tend to break easily but they are also easily repaired. I had to cut it open in several places to locate the fault but I finally repaired it and now it is working again.
