It isn't easy being green in the MMP

{{{{{April}}}}}

My condolences, April.

My Father died when I was 16, so from experience I may assure you that although it will take a long time, you will get better.

{{{Apes}}}

April, I am so sorry. It hurts like hell, and will for a while, but like the song says, we choose to forget the pain and remember the laughter.

Remember the good parts. It doesn’t seem like it will ever get better, but the pain will retreat after a while.

OK, so I’m feeling a little smug right now.

DH had managed to accidentally put his phone into an accessibility mode (something to help the less-able user) that he a) couldn’t work with and b) couldn’t manage to reverse. While he was cursing and moaning about not wanting to be up for the next few hours rebuilding it from the OS up, I hit Google and in about a minute found the solution to his woes. :smiley:

Good morning.

We had some rain/thunder move through a bit ago! It was a warmish 47 degrees.

I’m awake, caffeinating, and thinking about what I want to get into today, housework-wise. Decisions, decisions.

Have a good day, everyone.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’. YAWN 'Tis 53 Amurrkin out with a predicted high of 71 for the day. We also have a POLLEN ALERT in effect. It’s Spring (or almost). There’s pollen. Whodathunkit!

{{{Apes}}} I’m so sorry for your loss. Your grandpa, you and the entire family are in my thoughts and prayers.

Nettie you should make DH write “Google is my friend” one hundred times on the chalkboard. :smiley:

Sari that poem is worthy of bein’ embroidered on a throw pillow.

Ok, I need more caffiene and rumbly tummy says it’s hongry. Then, alas and alack, irk purtification must commence. Le Sigh.

Happy Hump Day Y’all! Just. Does. Not. Get. Old.

{{{Apes}}} - peaceful thoughts to you and yours.

**sari **- you’re really good at that Zen stuff!! :smiley:

For some reason, my feet were frozen most of the night. They’re often cold when I go to bed, but usually within a short time, everything under the covers gets warm and toasty, largely because of the memory foam topper. Not last night, tho. I finally got up about 2 and put on socks. It helped, and I was able to sleep til almost 6:30 when Higgs started whining. I don’t usually wear socks because my feet end up getting really hot - thinking I’ll leave a pair on my nightstand just in case from now on.

We’re promised drizzle, showers, and outright rain today and temps creeping into the mid-40s. Much of the snow has melted, and this should hasten the departure of the rest. But it also keeps me from working in my yard. Maybe I’ll clean the pellet stove - it has a ton or so of ash that needs to be scooped out. There’s a fun-time activity… :rolleyes:

It’s Mumper-Meet-Up Eve!! :smiley: Happy Wednesday!!

Blurf. :grumble:

Happy Hump Day!

Well for some of you at least.

It’s grey out, and breezy, and 35 degrees.

I am up too early because now not only do the fucking hounds from hell thunder past my door but he is up wanting his breakfast which means more banging around in the kitchen.
and I heard pussy pants ask the sniveling snit what time the mall opens. WTF! the living room is already so full that there is no place to sit. Every surface is piled high with boxes and bags, they don’t have any money to move and the first thing he wants to do is go to the mall???!!!
From what I hear their bedroom is piled from floor to ceiling with boxes and there is only enough room to get from the door to the bed. Here’s hoping the entire hoard crashes down on their heads and that they find dead mice in all the boxes when they unpack them.
That’s my happy thought for the day.

Yay Nettie

One more day until show time. I’m nervous meeting new people, but even more nervous driving in Annapolis. It looks like a direct route but Annapolis is sneaky that way. It lures you in and then throws you in a circle where you can go around and around the cobblestones and never get out.

I have to let hellpup and riverpup out today. I wish I had said no because I have a few other things I need to get done.

in spades

Morning all,

Apes, so sorry to hear about your grandpa. My thoughts are with you. Please feel free to ignore the first world problems rant below.

I think I might have to buy a new stand up freezer soon. Grrr. Just bought this one 5 years ago. It randomly shuts it self off and doesnt come back on. Then Mr. Jynxster has to pull it away from the wall and reset it and then it works, but I ain’t losing $$$ worth of Costco meat to it. The absolute worst thing is that the light doesn’t come on inside most times anymore. It is not burnt out as 1 in 5 times or so it works after being reset, but I have to search through bins of meat in the dark! Ok, its not the worst thing, but it *is *annoying. We are trying to save for a new roof as this one is 15 years old and shedding shingles faster than the cat sheds hair, but things just keep coming up! ARG!

Afternoon, mumpers! What a glorious day it’s turning out to be over here, we were promised not very much at all but it’s bright and shiny out there so I may have to go for a lunchtime wander.

Been a bit busy today for a change, I’ve had an urgent list of stuff to do that needs to be finished by Friday so I will be spending a bit of time on that, then I have an options talk to go to later so I can meet the rest of the academics in the dept. What an exciting life, huh?

**sari **- it’s really not hard to find the Tavern or the parking garage. Come down West St, then turn on Calvert and go into the garage. When you come out, get oriented, head back to West St and cross to the other side - tada!! You’re there!

And there’s nothing to be nervous about. I’m nice, dammit, and so is tugig! **FCD **will usually behave, too. :smiley: And I’m sure **Jim **will behave himself in a public place. Right? :wink: No sweat. Plus it’s away from your HFH, so there’s that too!

Ya could come this eve ya know; it’s not like you need to get up early for irk tomorrow. <rolleyes>

Cap’n, tonight we need to discuss redesign; need to attach hard points to the [del]fins[/del] wings for bomb attachment points as set forth in the above Official Request Memo[sup]TM[/sup].
Oh, can one of our Military MMPers throw a few 500lb bombs in their trunk; it’s to help out a fellow mumper redesign their home. :slight_smile:

rosie’s .sig to the rest of y’all too.

Up and caffeinated. Working tonight. It’s cold and drizzly today, but that beats the freezing rain from yesterday.

Nettie, you need to buy DH a “Google is your friend” pillow.

Mooommmm!, my feets are toasty warm. And I keep my socks by the bed.:stuck_out_tongue:

sari, love the poem. And there’s no reason to be nervous about meeting FCM. Unless you don’t uses a coaster ,then you’ll rue the day.*

and {{{{Apes}}}}

*see what I did there?

There are several Mumpers who have met me and lived to tell the tale!

Maybe even some others who I’ve now insulted by forgetting… And they’re all none the worse for wear. :smiley: As far as you know. :smiley:

I will likely be a bit late (I am scheduled until 8 but I can often shift towards Annapolis early) but I will be there.
