Seems to me there have been some slight changes in the look of the board. For instance there’s now more space between the envelope/new posts sign and the thread itself. I also noticed the little “>>” icon for quoting posts has morphed into a written “View Post.”
Point being – besides corroborating that I am not hallucinating – if there’s indeed a change in the software and if so, what else is in the works? Mind you, I am NOT complaining but rather simply asking what is in the works…if anything. Also, is there anything else I am missing?
Oh yeah, I also see half an avatar on Tuba’s sticky: Threadspotting and Weird Earl needs you! Should I take it that avatars are the way of the future for everyone w/out a script?
I use Firefox and I always accept their updates. Not sure when the last one was, but I’m sure sure it’s up to date; I checked, 19.0 is their latest and that is what I am running. So yeah, perhaps that’s it. If so, yes, it does render differently on the issues I mentioned – just seems a bit different/weird.
No big. Again I was more interested in the SDMB upgrading their Vb software.
Running on IE8 something, the > arrow for quote boxes has a display pop up that says “View Post”, so I suspect that is rendering for some reason rather than being a pop up.
It renders fine on my FF 19.0, Chrome 25 and IE 9, all for Windows 7. It sounds like for some reason your browser’s not downloading the “view quote” button.
If you go directly to the viewpost.gif image URL, can you see it?
Hmm. Do you have a bunch of extensions/addons on your Firefox, do you know? You might want to try resetting Firefox to its original configuration (the link goes to instructions on how to do that) to see if that clears it up. Resetting should save your bookmarks and profiles, though it will eliminate your addons, download history, and preferred search engine/homepages, so only do that if this really bugs you or if you notice other quirks on other sites. (The page explains exactly what does and doesn’t get saved, so be sure to read that carefully.)
