It was a dark and stormy morning - an MMP

grumble That first sentence should read “don’t understand”

No, no, no, swampy: BOO

EEK!!!

MBG we bears find it’s much more fun to hide behind trees and jump out and yell BOO!!!. The tourists are usually so skeered after they run off and leave their pic-a-nic baskets and beer coolers.

Happy Halloweenie!

Ack! No time for a long post. I skimmed, I promise. I’ll be back later. For now, good thoughts to taxi, tarra, and anyone else who needs them.

Oh, and of course my special Halloween pun. It’s a visual one, so clicky clicky, and enjoy.

Happy Hallowe’en everyone! :: runs off to do more work ::

I’m home with a stomach flu. :frowning: Someone make me feel better (now would be a good time for the pukey smiley) :frowning:

I’m hammering and putting together bookcases to get all the crap off my office floor before I go away, so be glad you’re not there. Also, the cat lying next to me snores. And bites. And there is no chocolate in the house. And I have to pick up a bunch of bricks before it gets dark, lest enterprising adolescents heave them through my window tonight. --Hope that helps.

I’m working on the %#&*(%$# forcast AGAIN. I think it’s an undead Halloween forecast. It. Just. Won’t. DIIIIEEEEEE. It’s a Zombie Forecast. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.

Kitty!

A bit of a drive through as both work and school are keeping me crazy busy this week. I am going to a Halloween deally tonight, and tomorrow I shall have pictures of myself as Sherlock Holmes and as the 4th Doctor (Doctor Who) (The Doctor Who costume is not quite warm enough for Michigan nights so I am costuming in layers).

Hugs and good thoughts to those who need them.

How about a little soft shoe?

Dons a straw boater and cane and does a little dance

Eh? Eh? Well, at the very least now everyone in the thread is searching for that pukey smiley and they say misery loves company.

Also, I just skimmed through the latest sequential threads thread and noticed that two threads that I had started show up, and one of them is used thrice! Another dope first for me. Now I just need to get pitted before I can claim the total doper experience.

Feel better rosie :: slides some chicken soup through the cup holder thingy::

I got candy. I got the porch light on. Wonder if there’ll be trick or treaters tonight. Last year there were zilch.

I live in an apartment building, so the only recourse for those who want to do something for halloween is to bring whatever candy they’ve bought to the party room for distribution by whomever volunteers to do so.

Though going through the mall by my place to bring home some Timmy’s I did pass a number of pint-size ghoul packs, so they’re definitely out in force in my area.

House is dark - no porch light - no beggers here tonight. Yeah, I’m a grouch.

And now, it’s time for my one and only Halloween joke.

What do you get when you goose a ghost?

A handful of sheet!

Today pretty much sucked at work. But I’m just about done with the crap I have to do to get my project pages uploaded, so there’s that. Is it Friday yet??

Alistair, I’ve been here for years and years, and no one has ever bothered Pitting me. Bet swampy hasn’t been Pitted, either.

Home from work. I survived. There’s someone nearby who apparently spent $15k on his Hallowe’een decorations, so I might able up to see them later.

rosie, I’m sorry you’re sick. We need a puking smiley for all kinds of reasons, don’t we?

Do I want to do grocery shopping tomorrow or Friday?

Aww, anyrose. Bourbon, lemon, hot tea, warm covers, sniffling, wild cherry or menthol and lemon throat drops. Complaining at a loving friend-acceptable level. Lots of trashy novels and/or TV shows. Sleep if possible. Nyquil, Vitamin C, ibies after Tums.

And this, er, cold comfort: You’re not dead yet.

Yes you are. Lie down.
I’m feeling much better, really I am.
No you’re not, you’re -

I woke up with a migraine this morning, so stayed home from work. I felt better this afternoon, then remembered that there will be 100 screaming children in the office, most of them near my desk. So I stayed home for the day. Now I have an enormous bag of Halloween candy. I suppose I could give it out tonight, but my doorbell is actually a buzzer, with the most aggravating BUZZZT! you’ve ever heard. I don’t think that will help my migraine. So I’m going to stay in the back of the house, with the porchlight off, tonight.

Well, that’s weird. I got a thank you note from the salesman that sold me my bed. :dubious: Off to the Post Office to mail my purse. It was due today, but I’m late. It should reach Chicago by the end of the week. Here’s a pic. I don’t know if I like it or not, but it’s a little late to change my mind now. That’s one of the reasons it’s late, after all.

rosie, I’d do a lively dance, just so gabriela doesn’t mistake you for one of her… err… patients. As a precautionary measure.

Apparently Quasi-Daughter is coming down and we’re trick-or-treating. Well, wandering around looking at stuff, and stopping in at work to scam candy. Sounds good. I should probably eat something first, though. 28 isn’t too old, right?

BOO!

Home from work, and a long nap. I got a sore throat. :shares chicken soup with rosie: My porch light is off, but I don’t get too Trick or Treaters. Of course, having Maggie Wonderbeagle bark and beat her head against the window doesn’t hurt, either.

Shambling? Zombie MMPer!!!

Mindfield, when I scew up, I tell my employees " those who can, do. Those who can’t, teach. Those who can’t teach, administrate."

Alistair, I haven’t been Pitted either.

Depends. What will the weather be like? Will you be working tomorrow or Friday? How urgently do you need anything? (Well, you asked…) Oh, and of course 28 isn’t too old!

I’m sitting at my door, monitoring the front walk for trick or treaters. It started about 45 minutes ago and I’ve had 25 kids stop by already. I think it’s fun. It’s mostly been older kids (middle-school-ish), but there were a few littler kids. So far no parents with infants (I had several last year that just teed me off since their children were clearly not old enough to go near candy.) It’s wet out, although I don’t think it’s actually raining any more. Mostly there have been better costumes this year. I think that’s because the city decided to have a costume contest.

Very cute kitties up there, Scarey.

And that was a silly pun Spats.

Hope you’re feeling better, rosie.

So where’s BibKitty been? Haven’t seen her in a while, have we?

Those sound like interesting trips Shoshana. Hope you can take a few pics in Vietnam and Cambodia and share them. Where are you from in Ohio?

Dunno about rosie, but the dancing cheered me up, Alistair. The layered costume concept sounds interesting. Not sure how you managed the boater and cane on top of that. :stuck_out_tongue:

Spoke too soon about the babies. Just had a less than one-year old dressed as a pumpkin show up in mom’s arms? No evidence of older sibs in sight. Please explain.

Well, my trials and tribulations with the Excel and the Access continue, but may, possibly maybe, be at an end tomorrow. I was able to leave a verification assignment for a few of my analysts. If my spreadsheet passes their review, I’ll have one more relatively small step and then…I’m done!!! (This is a one-time start-up table, thank heavens.)

Sorry about the migraine, Jahdra. Cute purse, though.

:: Does wild dance to ensure that gabby doesn’t mistake her for work ::

Hi to anyone I missed!

Well…gotta go rummage around the boards some more and maybe watch a movie while I wait for the kiddoes to finish wandering by. Also, I want to investigate the weird noises outside. Sounds like someone nearby is having a party.
