They’re both lovely, though I’m somewhat partial to the first because the combination of white/dark green/pink is a bit too Laura Ashley for my tastes. Don’t listen to me, tho… I’m weirdo.
I retract my previous glee about today’s frabjousness. It took all of two hours to descend into total suckitude… I’ve got overlapping meetings in less than an hour (neither of which really has a point, except to re-hash stuff that’s been hashed plenty already), but before then I’ll need to squish in some errands, eat some semblance of lunch and finish writing a document. Shall we take bets on the odds of me completing any of the above?
Taxi, I like the colors of the first one. Very cozy! It’s busy, but I’m a color person, and I think it would look lovely in your bedroom.
I don’t eat much spaghetti anymore, but when I do, I love to put Michigan cottage cheese on it. My family thinks I’m nuts, but it’s oh so yummy.
But hold the ketchup.
One of my coworkers is getting “discliplined” - 5 non-paid days off. I am sure he is thrilled, he’s a college student and really doesn’t give much of a shit about this job. This means the rest of us are punished by having to cover his hours or work short. Pretty effective, huh? AND, since it is a “personnel” matter, we won’t be told what he did/didn’t do so we can nag him not to do/to do it. Wish they would do something about the girl on 3rd who is late every night… It appears that 2nd shift is the only shift with a good “on time” record.
Much laundry to do today with the reward of a game tonight.
You only say that because you’ve never had the Best Crabcakes in Maryland (or the Entire World), MBG. But clearly my daughter needs to work on her sex life…and with that, I have no more to say on that subject! :dubious:
I vote for what’s behind door #2, taxi. But the colors in #1 are among my least favorite anywhere, any time. What color are your walls? That’s the important question. Or will you paint the room to match whatever spread you get?
Ketchup on spaghetti is six kinds of disgusting!
I got a few hours of sleep, finally, and now need to run an errand or two. And then take an afternoon nap. So I should probably get to it while I’m temporarily upright. And I do mean temporarily!
Is everybody hungry today? It’s sounding like y’all are on diets and seriously jonesing for food with all this talk of Dunkin Donuts, pizza, spaghetti, cookies and whatnot.
Not much to report from this end of the world other than I’m cautiously optimistic that I passed the certification exam, DH is still unemployed, but has an “in” for a pretty radical career change, and that a local state senator is trying to kill Christmas.
ETA: oh, ketchup on spaghetti is just wrong, but cottage cheese is pretty similar to ricotta, and that’s gleefully heaped onto pasta by authentic Italians. Except they make it sound like “ri-GOT” - the final “a” simply disappears.
I, on the other hand, have never had sex in Maryland. Which is a good thing, because I’ve never been there with my husband. I have had crab-cakes in Maryland, though. And I’ve had sex in other states…
taxi, I vote for the second one, but I have to say neither of them are to my taste, so just ignore me!
I haven’t had sex or crab-cakes in Maryland. As a matter of fact, I don’t think I’ve ever been there (or if I have, I would have been about seven years old at the time, so definitely wouldn’t have been making the beast with two backs). If truth be told, I’ve never had sex anywhere in the US of A, although I did once have a very tasty young man from Idaho …
Food and sex. How in the world did we get there from a horse MMP? I’m sooooo confused!
First load of laundry is done, second in the dryer, third in the washer. How in the world can two people accumulate so many dirty clothes? Do the cats play dressup when I’m not home?
Cat story - saw an interesting catfight last night between Magic and Mr. Spock. Spock is a 28lb sofa cushion and Magic weighs about 8. Looked like a black cushion on a white sofa. No one was apparently hurt, though I will be feeling for abcesses for a few days. I think that honestly I would let Magic go to another home if I knew someone who needed an “only cat” - but I don’t and I would be very choosy about where he went. So I just have to referee.
Cookies are baked (for hockey players) - white chocolate macadamia nut. I saved two for me.
I’m not going to discuss my sex life or compare it with crabcakes, but I do loves me some good crabcakes!! A trip to Annapolis may be in order soon, so I can sample these particular delicacies.
Home early - I left around noon. I’ve got the second load of clothes in the washer, but mostly I’ve been a slug. Yay for slugging. Tonight, we’re driving to the wilds of Waldorf to a wood stove store. We’d like to take the family room insert and put it in the basement, then get a new insert for this room. So we’re gonna go look. I’ve done some surfing, but I want to touch. Besides, lots of sites won’t post prices.
What else??
Hiya, beebs! When you have face to face conversations with people, do you find they shake their heads in disbelief a lot? Just wondering…
doggio, you work too much. I worry about you, sweetie.
MamaTigs, I’m not crass enough to ask for pecific, but how do you get paid for what you do? Is it by the page or by the job or by how much cussing you do as you get it done?? And while I know you probably never make errors, how do you handle requests for changes? Or does that even come up? Don’t worry - I’m not trying to horn in on you. Especially not after hearing what you go thru.
Happy Leapin’ Firday!
And as an added bonus, here’s Scruffy and Taz in a standoff last night. They’re in a never-ending power struggle. Scruffy is meaner but Taz is often the instigator, and he’s lots faster. Poor old Bernie just wishes she was an only.
The walls are “bountiful buff” - sort of a warm, off-white, buttery color. The room has a very warm, cozy feeling, and we’re probably going to decorate with antiques. KeithT’s family is very much into antiques, but I’m not, so I’m hoping we can limit them to that one room. So I want something that won’t look out of place, which is why we’re looking at quilts and not comforters or anything like that.
Um…I’ve been to Maryland. Didn’t have any crab cakes though, but I don’t really eat seafood anyway. Had sexual activity there, but no actual sex.
Taxi, I don’t really like either quilt set. Though I think it depends a lot on how big the room is. Put either of them in a small room, and it will look *much * smaller. I’d go with something generally lighter, but with a darker accent, something that you can pull into the room in other places. Like this one. I really like the sage/dark green combination here. It feels very soothing. Or this one. There are more colors for you to choose from here for accents, plus it’s a set, and it’s pretty cheap (though I don’t know how much of a concern that is for you).
Rigs is Chambana Champaign-Urbana by chance? I’ve never heard of Chambana, and I’m at least relatively familiar with the area. I grew-up in Bradley-Bourbonnais (exit 315 on I-57). I lived there (except for college which was in Jacksonville, IL) until I moved to Boston a few years ago.
It’s so frickin’ cold and windy outside. I went out for lunch and was numb before I got back. Fuckin’ winter. 21 days until Spring…seems like so far away.
The room’s so blah right now though that we need something with some good color. The first of the ones you linked to would just make the whole thing feel washed out. It really needs something somewhat dramatic to give the room some personality.
