Italian food: hot or cold?

I have a refrigerator full take-home boxes of half eaten pizza, a calzone, and some spaghetti alfredo. It was good in the restaurant, but eating some cold pizza this morning made me realize that I probably like these foods better after a night in the refrigerator. I would almost buy a pizza just to put in my refrigerator for the next day, only I don’t possess enough foresight. Anyone else think a breakfast or midnight snack of cold Italian food is a full-out flavorgasm?

Cold pizza is God’s study food.

Or something to have after you been out all night drinking beers.
BEEEEELCH!

Cold pizza’s best but I also like it reheated slowly the next morning. Stick it in the oven at 140º for about fifteen minutes and it comes out tasting even better than the night before.

word. anything that can make you feel that much better while hung over is clearly a godsend.

I prefer most Italian food hot. Cold mozzarella is just rubbery white stuff. Hot mozzarella is a work of of delicious art. Same for tomato sauce and nearly all pasta.

There are two kinds of people in this world: people who eat cold pizza and NORMAL people! :stuck_out_tongue: Cold mozzarella is just YUCK.

Then again, I have been known to make cold spaghetti and onion sandwiches on Wonder bread.

Cold pizza is good.

I find that things like lasagna and spaghetti are better when they’re left to chill in the fridge overnight, and then warmed up in the microwave. I just prefer the texture when it’s dried out a bit.

I’m not sure if I am more disturbed by the concept of a spaghetti sandwich(!!) or that it’s eaten on wonder bread. I could *possibly *see someone eating some spaghetti between slices of some crunchy and slightly toasted french bread but that spongey stuff that my mom was raised on? I thought the Geneva Convention had laws against such things.

Cold pizza is great, but part of it was finding a way to reheat it properly.

Cook’s Illustrated had a great way of reheating.

Shake a liberal amount of oregano onto a dry frying pan. Place pizza slices in pan, and put the heat to med-low. Cook covered for about 10-15 minutes. End up with hot pizza with nice crispy crust.
