I am looking out the office window at snow, snow, snow, blowing and sitting on everything! Makes you think of Christmas!!!
Although hubby wasn’t please to have to shovel the driveway this morning!

It’s gorgeous. All clear and shiny and beautiful outside, serene and white. blissful
Unfortunately, we’re supposed to get an unseasonal warm front coming in by Sunday… whimper, hates global warming
Ex-Torontonian here. I just want to congratulate you folks on the inevitable coming of winter, and to say in utmost sincerity, in the voice of Nelson, “ha ha!” You guys can have it! Pardon me now, I have to go and trim the palm tree.
I despise winter and the frozen hell-hole Ottawa becomes during it.
Oh, Dooooopeeeeers…
evil grin
Snowball fight! pelts, ducks and runs
Could you guys stop sending it down here to Ohio, please? We really don’t want it.
Hey, next Wednesday it’s supposed to be up to 14 degrees!
Dammit. Was going to break out my snowshoes, too…
And, according to the 14-day weathercast on theweathernetwork.com, it’s supposed to go right back down to -2 and snowy again on Thursday. Weird. :dubious:
Second that - as I stand at my office window looking out on Albert Street and mentally inventorying the location of my parka, my Yaktrax and my James Bay mitts. And my mukluks.
Five months of “hat head” coming up.
Sigh.
Agreed.
Keep it north of the border, folks.
I’ve gotta manage to move back south again soon.
I like Ottawa during the winter. A decent, invigorating cold. None of this namby-pamby slush and freezing rain and crap that we get down Toronto way.
I hate you.
[sub]So, how’s the hurricane situation these days? [/sub]
So have you started to deploy the Duke of York Armoured Snow Removal Regiment yet ?
:: sobs ::
Dude, not cool. People are still homeless, dead, and missing from Katrina.
That said, whap with a snowball!
I like snow when I’m watching it fall from inside a warm and dry place. I hate that I have to wear a skirt for my school uniform. My legs were icicles by the time I got to the other building.
Throws a snowball at Kythereia and runs
Weather Network says it’s -20 with the wind chill right now in Windsor. Oh well, I still have to venture out to get some food.
The tough life of the university student.
You Southerners have your fun with your little snowfall. In the real North, snow for Thanksgiving is what we’re thankful for.
puts on her red flannel hat with ear flaps, grabs the snowshovel, and heads out the door.
If you say so. We had our traditional “all the windows and doors open because it was 78 degrees outside” Thanksgiving – but it’s going all the way down to 59 tonight, so brrr. If you’ll excuse me, I have to go put away the shorts and change into jeans so I can string Christmas lights up on the palm trees. Maybe it’ll stay warm enough tomorrow to use the pool.
If it’s any consolation at all, last week in Regina: on Monday we had several centrimetres of snow, by Wednesday it was -29 on Wednesday morning, and then by Friday it was plus 6. And the snow is gone again. And that’d be winter in Canada.
It’s snowing in Montreal too, and it’s so pretty to look at (mostly because it’s not enough to need shoveling yet).
But that means that I’ll finally have to go buy new winter boots, since the ones I had last year are finished. Going to be quite an adventure, since everything in the stores now is big and clunky and looks like it’s made from rodent pelts. Ick.
I’ve got mittens, though! Essential for snowball fights.
