It's a great day today.....

My footy team won (which is no mean feat for St. Kilda, who are renowned for their regular appearance at the bottom of the ladder) and the house is vaguely tidy and I’ve made some major inroads into my Criminology essay.

It’s a great day today.

What has made your day?

It’s 2:00 a.m. here. So far, so good.

It’s quicker to post at SDMB at the moment.

Congrats on your victory!

I am currently not dead.

Addendum…it’s not the perfect day because I just burnt the quiche.

Ah well, shit happens even on the best of days!!

It’s 12:40 AM here… so pretty good so far.

But it was a good day Saturday (technically)… had Awana again and saw all the kids, spent time with my friends, and right now am talking to my Net friends before I go to bed.

F_X

My day was good, too. My house is tidier than normal, too! Got up my usual weekend very late (why, oh why, can’t I make myself go to bed?) and did laundry and cleaned house, then caught up on newspapers. Later my son and I met his girlfriend and her brother and mom for hamburgers, then we went to the World’s Largest Arbor Days Festival which just happens to be virtually in my back yard! We saw Little River Band, who is still amazingly great after all these years, and Rick Springfield, who was so laughingly bad he ended up being just as entertaining as LRB!

Then we all came back to my house and we had fun with my 23 pound cat Big Mac, rolling him on the floor (to rub his belly, doncha know). All in all a good day.

Tonight I got the phone number of a woman I’ve been interested in for about 12 years.

She gave it to me without my asking.

And… she did it (unknowingly) right in front of someone else I had asked out 2 weeks ago and turned me down.

Yep. That definitely made my day. x2.

My night shift was this morning so it is is still today. My day was made by being reminded of the universal male stress relief method which I had long forgotten - throwing things.

It rained all day but apparently little of it has ended up in the dams.

I, being housebound due to the aforesaid weather, have made great inroads into the spring cleaning. Given that it’s actually Autumn at the moment, I’m not sure if I’m six months behind or six months ahead.

I pulled an all-nighter at a nightclub Saturday night/Sunday morning. I was feeling sociable and very outgoing, so I introduced myself to all sorts of strangers and chatted away merrily. Even better, I had five of my close friends with me and we had some good group bonding sessions. I really love those guys, and it’s so fucking nice to tell them that.

I got home at 7 AM this morning and slept the sleep of innocents for eight unbroken hours.

The Lions won their AFL game too
I got a good flogging last night.
The study for my veterinary finals is going pretty well.
I succesfully cooked Bouef Bourginion and made someone jealous of my nice-smelling dinner.
There is hot chocolate steaming on the stove, waiting for the cream to be added.

Life is sweet

Had a good night on the town last night, watched a great movie (a good Dutch movie! It’s unheard of!), spend a few more hours in various pubs, drinking Guinness and other assorted beers, took a cab ride home with a Hindu driver who went on to explain us that 89% of all music is about sex, and 11% is about God, and that’s why he listened to classical music in his cab.

Woke up with no hangover, and have been having a lazy Sunday ever since. Celtic beat Rangers in a good match, Liege-Bastogne-Liege is on the telly, and Michael Boogers seems to be leading the pack.

I just finished my breakfast of 4 sandwiches and a banana, and am now opening my can of Dr. Pepper. It is 16:48 PM.

Ah, Sunday.

Went to a Dylan concert last night, danced in the aisles, and came home and slept like a baby. Today it’s a beautiful sunny day, I’m getting much-needed laundry done, we finally started sorting out and repackaging the Mardi Gras beads that have been sitting around for a month, and I’ve petted the dogs a bunch. And later today we’re going to a minor league hockey playoff game. At an arena literally across the street from the beach in Mississippi. Ah, the delights of mushy ice!

Well, it’s a pretty nice day.

The Giants are currently being no-hit, which I don’t like at all, but I am hoping that by mentioning it on the SDMB, I’ll jinx it and Kevin Millwood will spontaneously combust on the mound or something.

I finished mowing my #@# lawn. That’s done for a little while.

It is almost 1.30pm on Monday 28th April.

Why you ask is this great?

Because at 1.30pm on Monday 19th May - 3 weeks time I am booked in for my C. Section and will finally get to meet this baby.

Yay!

Another reason today is so great - I finish work on Wednesday this week so I now have only 2 1/2 days of work to go. Which will turn out to be less because my boss is taking me out to lunch on Wednesday so probably I’ve only got 2 days of actual work to go.

Sunday was not great because the Doggies lost :frowning: and they got beaten by Leechboy’s team the Lions.

Luck and Joy Leechbabe!
