I’ve finished pressing the hems in place on 20 towels - tomorrow, I stitch! I’ve also made another pair of fingerless mitts, and I’ve been watching NCIS. And just now, I started cooking the broth and chopped up chickie for chickie-n-dumplins. My sweetie is snoozing. It got warm enough inside for the stove to shut itself off, but I expect it’ll come back on tonight.
All in all, a nice day.

I had ravioli and meatballs for lunch. I’ll finish off the leftovers sometime for dinner.
I broke a finger nail down to where it’s going to bleed if it gets pulled off. I got the nail clippers to cut it shorter and got distracted and now I have no idea where the nail clippers are.

We’re on the edge of a weather system, so there’s been rain around us, but no rain here.

Just got a call from my sister - my mom is in Tampa. Apparently the ship had some problems and they skipped Miami and went directly to Tampa. They’ll be putting up all the passengers in a hotel tomorrow night, and Mom comes home Monday as planned. I’m sure they’d rather come straight home, but they probably can’t get a flight, and I expect the cruise line won’t pay the fee to change their reservation. Oh well…
I think it’s time to get into nighty-night clothes and veg in the recliner till bed time. MWAH!

It’s dark and chilly out. Forget chilly, it’s just pain cold. The powder room is getting a bit chilly

Today will be a day like any other day. Sah-son has two papers due so I’ll be doing some proofreading. I probably shouldn’t do it now but I’ll l do a quick skim through anyway.
Other than that just another quiet day.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis a chilly 49 Amurrkin out with a predicted high of 70 for the day. The next couple of days will be like this and then accordin’ to the weather PTB back to highs in the low 80s. We shall see.
Yestiddy was looooooooong but it was a good day. We got JDD’s ‘rents yahd lookin’ good with just a couple hours irk. OYKW and I went to the nursin’ home to visit said 'rents and had a good visit. Partner made a nummy N.O.L. of ham, cabbage, squish, and rolls. Pound cake for dessert, of course. The cake was a hit. We took a couple slices of it to the 'rents even. We had a nice dindin at the catfish place as well. OYKW and I left there around seven-thirty, got to da cave, unloaded the yahd stuff to the garage (it shall make its way to where it lives sometime today) and crashed. We was tahrd!
Today’s plan calls for deheathenization. I am a Lector (readin’ not cannibal) this mornin’. N.O.L. is TBD but will probably be sammiches. Laundry must also ensue. Rah.
OK, that’s all I got. I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy wants to be fed. At some point purtification for deheathenization must also commence.

Two papers proofread. One is ready to submit I think, he just needs to clarify something. The instructions say to highlight the inline cites in green. In the rough draft she told him to remove them - I think she meant she wants only the cites highlighted - not the quotes. He thinks she wants no highlights at all.
I told him to send an email to clarify.
The other paper - it needs some work. He knows it does, so not a surprise to him.
I logged in to irk for two hours, I’m tired and going to take a nap.
After much shopping online and gnashingof teeth over the price of handling (they lure you in with free shipping), I gave up and went to a brick and mortar store for the new [del] toy[/del] tool for the studio. I wound up with a top of the line model on clearance for less than the base one even before handling online. Win!
I will commence purification shortly for heathenization.

Higgs and I joined **FCD **in bed and we didn’t get up till after 8. Then we showered and dressed for a McBreakfast and a trek to Lowes. Unfortunately, I didn’t notice that Higgs had pooped on the hearth rug and I stepped in it and tracked it across the family room into the kitchen. ick. My sweetie cleaned my shoe and I got up the worst of the poo and sprayed the spots on the carpet. Then we ran our errands.
Once home, I ran the vacuum, used the carpet shampooer to spot clean, and sponge-mopped the kitchen. And since the vacuum was out, I sucked up the crud on the front floor mats in the car. The floor should be dry by now, and after I reassemble the kitchen, I’ll commence to baking pies.
Needless to say, cleaning up dog poop wasn’t on today’s to-do list. ick.
The temp has crept up to 52° but it’s not supposed to get much warmer. The pellet stove just kicked on - it’ll take some of the chill out of the room, then turn off again. The thermostat is at a good set point.
And that’s all the news that’s fit to print. For now. I guess.
Still haven’t found the damn nail clippers, and no Doggio they aren’t on the counter by the microwave. Neither side being that the microwave isn’t on the counter, it’s above the stove. I’d rather it was on the counter because I’m short.
I don’t know why I bought a house designed for tall skinny people.
