It's a matter of taste in the MMP

:open_mouth:
Idiot indeed! So, how many lawsuits will there be?

The stands (actually in converted shipping containers) are all over the place here, all offering BOGO. Yeah, such a deal… Our neighborhood tends to be quiet, probably because it’s mostly full of geezers.

I not only knew this, I made myself, and still have, a t-shirt in English, and I made my mom a Polish version. There’s a meme on FB to the effect of “Ralph suddenly realized this is his circus and those are his monkeys” - love it!

Speaking of scouts, Roxy has decided (after a week of Girl Scout camp) that she’d rather take gymnastics. Her mom is obviously following my rule of one activity at a time. :+1:

FCD decided he didn’t want to go to the boat after all yay! so I ran to Food Lion and Aldi for a few things. But Aldi still hasn’t gotten another shipment of the cereal or the green beans that I like. Dammit. Oh well.

Second load in the washer, first in the dryer, one more remaining. I’ve cut off the too-long shower curtains from the boat and they’re ready to be hemmed, as soon as I finish lunch. After that, dunno.

And a late-morning check-in here. Up fairly early, but shopping (Kroger), then putting groceries away, then more shopping (Wal-Mart), eating, and other wanderings on the internet delayed my response. Plus it’s hot (already 84F) and due to reach the 90F mark today, so not interested in doing a lot for the rest of the day.

And working to catch up on the MMP news of the day…

Cat Glove, I am unaware of my locale having any rules on garbage bins, I never leave mine out past pickup day, but I see lots of folks who leave them sitting for 1-2 days after. Glad you are caught up, the US Government Fiscal year ended 30 September each year and heaven help you if you needed things done, because everyone was working the budget.

And like you sometimes I will get it in my head that it is one day when it is not and have to darndest time recalibrating brain.

boo fae, hope it cools down some soon, that heat wave has got to be uncomfortable.

I have been known to go out to check my mailbox in PJ Bottoms, but never farther than that.

Knots, glad to hear your doing well and your weight is pretty close to mine, I’m about 204lbs but on a 6’2" frame.

Mollie, don’t think I’ve ever been to Providence either, may have driven through it once or twice. Many years since I’ve been to New England, may have to find some time for it.

Taters, need to keep my eye out for the fireworks places around here, this is usually their time. Most places, fortunately, are away from the housing stock and most of my neighbors seem to me level-headed sorts.

Nut, being organized is over-rated, and I say that as someone who documents his calories almost every day. Stay dry. Glad studnet wasn’t stuck there all weekend.

rocky, so what’s the next option for keeping the fish and Koritza apart?

And that’s all for now. Micturation followed by some more internetting is the plan.

It’s about 70f and intermittent showers. Fud shopping completed and liberry visited. I plan to spend the rest of the day reading.

Yesterday was a dentist visit. $146. He recommended I consult an endodontist about the possibility of a root canal. That consult will be $250. Don’t know what a root canal costs but I’m guessing around $3k. The vet is visiting Ariel on Monday because she is still short strided in her left front. That visit could hit $1k with dx and tx.

Anyone know a rich old man with one foot in the grave and the other on a banana peel that would like to marry an older yet youthful crazy cat and horse lady???

I have no problem going into my yard in my robe, but not beyond.

OK, time to get to the sewing machine.

Around here the cost varies according to how many roots the ailing tooth has. Molars in the way back may have 3 or 4 roots and indeed cost 2 thousand. The type of anesthetic you chose can push the cost up or down a bit too.

I get my root canals done at the state university college of dentistry in their post graduate specialty clinic and it costs half of that. You might look into that if there is a dental college anywhere near you.

Angel’s final vet visit is scheduled for 1530. We’ve been expecting it for a few months now – she’s down to around six pounds, but yesterday she was still able to come downstairs and get into the bathtub to get to the cats’ water bowl (which we keep there because Susu likes to play in the water), then get back out and go back upstairs, This morning, though, she’s having problems moving her hind legs and doesn’t seem able to stand up on her own. Not sure how long she’s lived with us – eleven years, maybe – but Lady SCAdian is pretty sure (based on what the shelter told us) she’s around eighteen years old now.

@SCAdian

{{{{{{ all of you }}}}}

Busy place! I can’t keep up. But I wish everyone well!

herald, I am so sorry. Sounds like you’ve given Angel the best life she could have. I hope knowing this is a comfort to you in time.

Today our weather is back to perfect, so far as I’m concerned: Currently 60Ferrets and climbing to only 65. Nicely overcast, but the sun is flirting with an appearance. < revel >

I’m headed to town shortly to lunch with some friends. Ordinarily I’d avoid going out any day this weekend as it’s the annual 50-ish Mile Garage Sale on a main road nearby. I don’t mind people taking the opportunity to jettison their cast-offs, but 1) people drive like idiots, braking unexpectedly when they see a driveway they want to turn into (“Signal? What’s that?”); and 2) it is the most on-point demonstration of FOMO (fear of missing out) I’ve ever seen. Everyone racing from property to property barely looking at anything, yet hoping they’ll make the biggest score from some obscure art piece or rare antique that the current owner has woefully undervalued, and snatching it for a song.

I’ll take the backroads today to avoid most of it.

Ollie has breakfasted and despite being given the opportunity for a romp, chose instead to stay warm under a throw for a snooze. Good practice for later, I guess.

Off to shevel and go interact with the Teeming Millions. Have superb days, all!

With Amazon Prime sales going on, I finally pulled the trigger on buying a robotic vacuum I’d had my eye on. Then I was talking to a friend yesterday and she was asking about it, and it had dropped another $50! You would think that Amazon would be willing to price match, and that is very much not the case. Their solution was to cancel the order and have me place a new one at the lower price. The dang thing had already been shipped to my city, and you would think it would cost Amazon more to return one and ship another out here, but they did not care. So sorry doggio & Spike for contributing to your workload, but $50 was too much to let slide.

Today I am trying to clear up all of the random clutter that has settled that I had put off finding permanent homes for, and then I want to do a good vacuum and spot mop. After all, I can’t have my new Robot Overlord start out in less than ideal conditions when it arrives tomorrow (I also don’t want to judge its performance unfairly).

Swampy a good gateway drug dish for Indian food is tikka masala. It is very flavorful with many spices, but it usually does not have a lot heat.

knots I hope you notice a difference with your new med. Cycling in and out of symptoms sounds very unpleasant.

taters are you looking to move, or just looking for fun?

Nuts what do you plan on doing with your PhD? As for the student that got locked in - well, at least he had a source of water if he had to spend an extended period of time in there…

Oh {{Herald}} I am so sorry, losing a pet is just a terrible thing to go through. You are making the right decision, but it doesn’t make it any less gut-wrenching.

Butter Chicken is good too, but I think it’s technically a Scottish dish. I think I’ll make Squeaky’s day (and Spike’s night) and do Butter Chicken tonight.

There were multiple call outs again, so I was on the 100 Sort Table for an hour and a half, along with one of the loaders from the 200 boxline. I was reasonably busy throughout the sort, which was chaotic and drawn out again. There were sets on the 200 South Boxline that still had full cages at 0900. :grimacing: There were 2 toilets and 2 mirrors that had to be damaged and tossed. I was out by 11:30, so not hideous, considering I got started late. I have laundry in the dryer, and dry, flavorless bits in the gullet, so it’s naptime.

I wanted to open an Indian flatbread place in your town, but when I went to the bank, the loan officer said it was naan-sense.

wearing the white sequined thong after Labor Day.

Yay!

{{{{Herald}}}} That’s the worst day to have.

We get paid by the hour. And a robo-vac is a lot better than a 150lb chair to have to drag around.

Herald I am so sorry about Angel. May a flight of angels sing her to her final rest. {{{}}}

{{{Herald}}}. The worst day in any pet-owners life. My

Wet one, Not sure I qualify as rich and I don’t care for cats that much and I’m planning to live forever (or die trying), so guess I’m not a good match. But hoping the bills aren’t as bad as they might be.

Bright Tree, take care driving and who knows, maybe you’ll spot something you’ve always secretly wanted…

52, guess it makes business sense, I had to return an item to them that was so small it probably cost more to send me the return label than it was worth, but at least you did remind me to get an order in to Amazon today.

And time to gather up the exercising outfit and head over to the gym for a bit. See y’all later.

At the moment, my main plan is to run away into the woods and live on squirrels. It will make being vegetarian a bit tricky though, so I’m open to other ideas.

I am so sorry @SCAdian you’ll be in my thoughts today, for whatever that’s worth.

Nope, and I asked her about it specifically. I first encountered it in English, I think on ancient social media. My mom seemed puzzled by the very question.

Alright, Monkey’s in charge of keeping the bed from floating away, but I gotta find pants and go do that “work” thing again.

i’m sorry. that is so difficult.

stainless steel rat, i have ordered a lided tank and will restart the process, then move the fish to the new tank. mostly i’m keeping watch on koritza. i make an annoying noise if she goes near it.

i’ve heard of the “not my circus, not my monkeys”. i am tempted by a tee shirt that states : " not my dungeon, not my dragons".

Waves with left hand. I’m still alive and still very crabby. Last night I realized I didn’t know where my phone was and hubs tried calling the surgery center to see if they had it but kept getting sent to voice mail. He was on his way back to Charleston today but chose to search the car first. So happy we didn’t have to deal with a new phone, I certainly do not have the patience for that right now.

My pain levels are under control with weed and ice, but I will take another pain pill tonight to help me sleep. The itching is under the bandages that I can’t take off so I can’t use anything on my skin. that changes tomorrow, I get to take a shower!!!

I’m sorry about Angel, Harold. I hope the passing was easy for you all.

That leaves out creams and sprays. Might be worth trying some Benadryl pills then, especially hopefully leading to a more restful night.

Enjoy that shower~PM me if you’d like nursey tape removal tips.

Dang Boo, I need the nursery tape removal advice. There’s so many things stuck to me more times in my life, I cannot say. I got scars.

Ivy says olive oil. It works some.
