Mornin’ everyone.
It’s 63F and sunny outside. The forecast calls for partly cloudy skies later this morning, and an overall daytime high of 90F. It reached 92 yesterday.
JtC, sending you the very best thoughts right now. I hope the surgery goes/went well.
Nellie, it’s so good to see you post. Yay for the back being so much better, but boo for the recalcitrant nephew. Also, yay for your son’s return to better health.
FCM, I’m sorry that Otis is back on The List. Poor guy. We had to crate or leave both Polar and Brandi outdoors in the dog run when we left the house during their youth. We also had to crate Buster and Maisie the first year or so. We can leave Buster and Maisie in the house now, and they have access to the backyard. However, once in a great while, Maisie finds a napkin, a sock, or sometimes an older stuffy and just shreds it. That usually happens if we’ve been gone a lot. I figure she’s expressing annoyance or concern when she does that.
I throw all my dirties into one hamper. I dump it on the laundry room floor, and separate the clothes into piles according to type when I wash. It helps that I have a laundry room upstairs. When the kids still lived at home, I had whites/towels/sheets, work clothes, jeans, and delicates hampers. I wash my sheets and towels in hot or warm water, but everything else is washed in cold water. I hang most of my shirts and some of my husband’s shirts to air dry. I also air-dry some of my workout pants. I find my clothes last much longer that way.
Yesterday’s movie was not that great. And, while the cost of the movie tickets themselves wasn’t too bad, the rest of the stuff was. We spent just under 80 bucks yesterday. Two movie tickets cost us around 27 bucks. The rest of the money was spent on two small Diet Cokes, one small popcorn, a small tray of nachos, and a packet of M&Ms. The popcorn and nachos were for my husband. I hate fake cheese sauce and really hate jalapenos.
Anyway, it just reinforced that going to movie theaters is just not worth it. I was surprised at how many people were there on a Tuesday at noon, though. The good news is that everyone was quiet and respectful of others. The audience consisted mostly of geezers. I was thinking, “Wow, look at all these old people!” when I realized that I myself am no spring chicken and have the silver and gray hair to prove it.
I’m going to mow the lawn today, and will head out there in a couple of hours before it becomes too terribly hot. After that, I’ll clean up, and maybe I’ll run some errands.
It’s time for more coffee. Please take care of yourselves.
