Today’s forecast was for partly sunny skies with a 30% chance of rain and a high of 48. They got one right. We’ve gone from sprinkles to you-could-drown-crossing-the-street, but at no time has it stopped raining, let alone allowed the sun to say hello. Party at National Weather Service!
It was sprinkling when I walked to the store. I came out to a deluge.
People here pride themselves on not using umbrellas. I notice very few of them walk much, however. Even with the bumbershoot, I got soaked to the skin. Why bother wearing clothes? Yeah, yeah, yeah, arrest record, blah, blah, blah.
I spent a couple of hours catching up via phone with an old friend. Now I feel loved. I learned long ago that compliments say a lot more about the person giving them than the person receiving them*, and that’s OK by me, as I’m grateful to have such a kind friend.
*Unless I’m giving them, in which case, reverse that.
Boo, nice job on the grammar lesson (sayeth the former English teacher)!
Shoe, are you aware you, Shoe, and Boo rhyme? Maybe she’s your iambic pantamother. That sounds like a good deal on the sushi.
MetalMouse, I hope the aching arm feels better. The shingles immunity will be worth it.
wheelie, please don’t go. The decision has indeed been made for you. Really, this Thanksgiving everyone who can possibly stay home should.
Thel, so glad you’re feeling better today!
FCM, glad the bulb arrived in one piece. That’s a lot of packaging! At least the bulb got there OK.
