Season 9 of It’s Always Sunny premieres tonight. New night, brand new channel - FXX. They’ve got a website - getfxx.com - to look up the channel number in your area. So boil up some milk steak, pour the wine into Diet Coke cans, and get watching, you Jabronis!
Yeesh…
…I didn’t know my cable channels went that high without becoming Spanish language programming, PPV sports channels and/or those channels that just play music. I’m feeling like FXX is going to be the nice farm where shows are send to die.
Should clear up the FX schedule for more Iron Man airings though!
Apparently Fox is getting rid of Fox Soccer Channel, and replacing it with FXX which may be the reason for it’s location. It’s a win/win!
The second X signifies extra hoooers.
Any word on when Season 8’s gonna be on Netflix?
I notice it was released on DVD and Bluray yesterday, but nothing’s up on Netflix yet…
My cable system currently has TWO FXX’s, because Fox shut down both Fox Soccer Channel and Fox Soccer Channel Plus. Time Warner put FXX in both slots. So I’ve got quadrulple the hoooooers.
Don’t forget to update your DVR series subscriptions…
Nobody wins on Always Sunny.
No idea, but they did have the “new episodes” banner on the image of the show the other day. I added it, thinking they must have just added Season 8, but, alas, no.
Netflix had a similar issue with Fringe, where every once in a while for the past month or two, the “new episodes” banner would appear when actually the latest season isn’t coming out until sometime this month. I figure it’s the same glitch, but I’m hoping that it’s a shorter period between false alarms and actual release. I missed a lot of Season 8 Sunny.
I’d like to watch, but the season premiere is airing at the same time as the series finale for Futurama, so…Futurama wins.
So it seems that there’s no HD version of FXX in my area. Humrph. No idea if there is in any other markets.
So I’m usually not a fan of Dee-centric episodes, but Dennis’s creep factor really made the episode. And I’m pretty sure her first manager was also Borat’s manager.
I’ve got it in HD - Fios in the Boston area. Wild card, bitches!
Every season I worry that Always Sunny might lose its edge and every single season the first episode lets me breathe a huge sigh of relief. The Gang still has it, even going into Season 9. To be honest, this is kind of unprecedented, but I digress.
Last night’s episode was pretty great. Dennis did a great job making me hate him. He’s slowly becoming more and more psychopathic and I think its gonna be amazing. Can’t wait to see what kind of fucked up shit he’s gonna do this season.
In retrospect, depressed Sweet Dee eating old cake probably isn’t anything I want to see in high def anyway.
I thought it was pretty good. More importantly, my wife and I stuck around for The League, which we’ve never watched, and laughed our asses off. Guess that’s one for the Netflix catch-up queue.
The League is vastly underrated. Amazing lazy-Saturday show rife with guy-humor. Hilariously lowbrow. ![]()
This is better than finding a whole case o’ eggs!
Or a bunch of jeans. There’s always cool stuff under the bridge.
I loved this episode, and it was all the last two minutes. Up until then, I’ll admit I was fooled, and was thinking it was a mediocre episode. I suspected Frank was paying off the talent agents, with the plan of Sweet Dee going on Conan, but losing her “not caring” attitude and freezing up and dry heaving, thus plummeting her back down…but having the whole thing be fake was amazing. It does help explain why I didn’t think her jokes were that funny…like, I chuckled at a few of them (I passed out in the park, and some kids wrote “wash me” in the filth on my vagina" was pretty great, the rest, less so,) so I didn’t get why she was becoming popular, hence my suspicion the talent agents were getting paid off, but where still real, and so were the audiences…my theory was they were just dumbasses who like stupid humor.
Also, it was fun to see Huell! (The guy who played Landfill plays a fun guy on Breaking Bad called Huell.)
Strange. This is the first example of Netflix over here having something American first. The better half and myself have been chugging through the show on Netflix and have 3 episodes left in season 8 which is available over here.
BTW, Charlie Day was on Conan over the summer to promote “Pacific Rim”, and asked him on the air to read the line introducing Sweet Dee so they could use it on the show.
