They should be hanged by the toes, the lot of 'em!
One of our local channels, UPN 23, has been showing Buffy on a weekly basis at some ungodly hour (like 12:30 AM on Sundays) in order. Thanks to the TiVo gods, hubby and I have been enjoying this show for months. (We’re a few episodes into season 4, and I’m eagerly anticipating seeing the oh-so-famous episode “Hush.”)
About two weeks ago, we noticed that it wasn’t appearing on our To Do list, and that the Season Pass Manager didn’t have any upcoming episodes on that channel. Hmm. We wondered if maybe they were skipping a week for a Very Special Movie or somesuch. So this week, we check again. And it’s not there. Desperate for an answer we went to the guide, and it’s been replaced with two episodes of some crap (I can only assume it’s crap) called “Girls Behaving Badly.”
This happened really quickly and with no warning. The last episode we got still had “scenes from next week’s episode” previewed in the middle. But we have been denied!
Thankfully, we’ll be able to ask for all 7 seasons on DVD for Christmas this year, but this bites ass! There’s another channel that runs Buffy, but they’re waaaaaay behind, and I don’t think they’re going in order. No more Buffy until after Christmas.
If your cable or satellite provider carries FX - they show back to back Buffys (Buffies?) 7am & 8am weekdays
It’s how I wake up and get ready for work
FX is up to the middle of season 2 - Spike just cured Dru and got injured in the process - With 10 episodes a week, they’ll be up to season 4 and Hush in about 4-5 weeks
Don’t feel like narrowing them down, but there are dozens in Cafe Society just from the last few months. Here are the results from a simple search for “Buffy”:
I’ll check out FX - we do get it. That’s the channel that’s way behind. I couldn’t tell if they were in order just based on the episode titles, but it’s good to know that they can pick up where UPN left off.
I’m rather upset at FX, myself. We have Dish Network, and we’re on the West Coast, so we get everything 3 hours early. So we were in the habit of watching the afternoon eps. of Buffy at 10:00 and 11:00 AM. Last week, though, FX canceled the 11:00 ep. and have been airing crappy sitcoms like That 70’s Show and Dharma and Greg instead. If I had Tivo, I’d set it for the 7:00 and 8:00 AM eps., but I don’t, and they come on at 4:00 and 5:00 AM here, so there’s no way I’m getting up to watch them.
Ugh, I may have to buy some blank DVDs and record it, but maybe I’ll just wait and see what Santa brings instead.
