It's always the last place you look

I hate glasses. I find them uncomfortable, annoying, and… I dunno what the word is, but I feel cut off from the world when I’m looking through a lens, like it’s not quite real. So I only wear them in specific situations where I really need to see long-distance.

Monday, I leave work to catch the bus, rummage through my backpack for my glasses… no glasses. My spectacles are MIA. This is a bit of a problem, because I have trouble making out bus numbers even with full vision correction. Fortunately, there’s one and a half other people who usually catch the same bus as me. I let them wave down the correct bus and get on after them.

Tuesday, I haven’t found my glasses at home, so I check in my locker at work. Still no glasses. Still have to have help catching the bus.

Wednesday, I’m off from work. I still haven’t found those glasses. I don’t even know when they went missing, because I’m pretty sure I haven’t used them since Thursday. I resign myself to having to buy a new pair; I go to get my jacket and wallet.
Under my jacket is my glasses case, dangling from the hook by the glasses chain.
It seems the cleaning ladies found it on the floor after it fell out of my pack, and for whatever reason decided it belonged hanging on the closet door. I would never have thought to look there in a million years.

I lost a hat once.
It was on my head

When I was young I used to keep looking for things after I found them.

I was trying to find my reading glass and kept asking my ex husband if he seen them anywhere , he kept say “NO!” After turning my condo upside looking for my glasses I told my ex to put down his newspaper , the damn fool has not only seen them he was wearing MY reading glasses ! He said he wondered why he was having a hard time reading the newspaper . :smack: My glasses were also smaller so they would fit tighter on my ex. Yeah my ex face was the last place I looked , it should had been the first place knowing my ex.

I’ve looked for love in all the wrong places.

Of course it’s always in the last place you look! Why on earth would you keep looking after you’ve found it? :smack:

The issue for me was that I couldn’t believe where I would find something and I would go back to the place the item was supposed to be.

Will it didn’t work that way with my ex husband ! He stopped looking when he found my reading glasses ! :smack:

♫ But I still haven’t found what I’m lookin’ for. ♬

(My damned phone.)

Because if you keep looking you may find another one!

Corollary: The last nut or bolt is always the one that won’t come off or go back on properly.

It’s easy to lose stuff when other people are moving it.

For me the best way to find something I’ve lost is to buy a replacement.
