No snow or even cold weather for the foreseeable future here.
Upper 50s with rain on Christmas Day.
I have a feeling the Mid-Atlantic has seen its last cold, snowy winter . . . ever.

My newspaper didn’t make it this morning.
My boss called. He’s going to try to make it in to the office - I wished him good luck.
21" out in front of the building; my side street hasn’t been plowed; the complex parking lot hasn’t been plowed.
RTD shut down. DIA shut down. USPS shut down.
I think I’ll make an omelet.
Hey, at least your mayor wants everyone to go out sledding today!
Our 17" snowfall is long gone. It’s raining now.
My father was going to head out to Blockbuster on foot yesterday afternoon but called ahead and they were about to close. I think he may lose his mind from not having new movies, especially if the USPS doesn’t deliver his internet ones. Mom said it’s blowing hard, and they may head out to snowshoe in the meadow nearby today.
Luckily they are retired and don’t need to be anywhere.
Of course it continues to be in the 40s and quite sunny here in VT/NH. My manager says it’s because she was cautious and had her winter tires put on on November 1; that’s why we will have a non-snowy Xmas.
He’s pretty cool. He’s a bar owner, and has a bit of a quirky personality. He’s also turning out to be not a half-bad mayor at all.
26" (I measured) outside as of right now, and it’s still snowing…
I work for a radio station in Sterling, Colo. Getting to and from work the past two days has been a true adventure. And we gotta’ come in, ‘cause we’re the guys who put out the blizzard warnings, school closures, etc. Every fast food joint on the main drag here in town is closed; only Wal-Mart is open. Every highway into and out of town is closed. My wife has been stranded at home for two days because (1) the local college where she works is closed because of the storm and (2) there’s a four-foot drift across our driveway. She and I are supposed to fly out Friday afternoon to spend Christmas with our son and his wife in N.C.; American sez we’re still scheduled, but we gotta’ be there by about 5 a.m. or they’ll give our seat to one of the 5,000 souls stranded in DIA. Fair ‘nuff. I-76 is supposed to be clear into Denver by midnight tonight, I have a 4-wheel drive pickup – I’m goin’ to North Carolina for Christmas! I won’t get any sleep between now and the time we touch down in Raleigh, but do I care? Nope!
Wanna trade mayors?
26 - 27 inches (slightly SE of Necros, iirc) and the wife wants to go shopping.
Seconded, and thirded, and fourthed. Fifthed as well, maybe.
Can we borrow some of your snow, Denver? We promise to put it back when we’re done.
I was gonna’ say, if you’ll haul it away, you can keep it, but with the drought we’ve been having, we need every snowflake we can get our hands on.
It’s finally stopped.

I’m with you, 6th’d on that one.
10 days ago we got 4’ overnight. And it was indeed beginning to look a lot like Christmas. One week later it was all gone  .
Maybe Al Gore is onto something, hmmm.
My college roommate was a DJ & program director at a station in Indiana. They had a snowmobile that could come pick him up in the morning so he could get into the station and get on-air!
No, Sam. I can’t recall the sight of snow… nor the chill in the air… nor the touch of frost. I’m… naked in the dark. There’s… There’s nothing.
(Actually, I do miss watching the snow fall around Xmas)
4WD vehicles (SUVs or pickups) are pretty much standard equipment out here in the hinterlands. If you live in the country (I do) you own one. The difference between us hicks and our city neighbors is that we know what 4-wheel drive is for and how to use it. I just read an AP story that hundreds of vehicles are stranded along U.S. 36, the main thoroughfare between Denver and Boulder. I’m betting about one-third of them are 4-wheel drive vehicles that the city folks didn’t know how to use.
I got stuck coming home last year around midnight - it was my first winter season driving, and I was in a car. I took the turn into our lot too sharp and hit a snowbank. Anyway, this guy just drove by in his 4x4 and pulled me out. Said he was just driving around being a good samaritan and having fun in his truck!
Haven’t gotten stuck since, but I am a farmer’s daughter!
now, we aren’t going to talk about that time with the mud in the field…
Let me guess – the guy was a blue-collar type, right? Those guys generally know how to drive 4WD. My brother-in-law, who’s a railroader and farms part-time, taught me how to use 4WD. There’s definitely a technique to it.
Still no snow here and it was over 50 degrees today.
My neighbors just measured 26 inches across the street.
