It's f****** stupid cold out there! (Location Maryland)

Hmm, maybe I’ll try that.

… ergo, global warming doesn’t exist.

(Kidding! Kidding!)

It’s about 13 degrees in Albany and it says it “feels like 4”.

It’s -24 C (-11 F) here right now. This morning it was -37 C (-35 F).

Quityerbitchin.

I just took a shower. When I tried to get the shampoo out of the bottle, it wouldn’t come out. I finally figured out the problem - the shampoo had been in its usual place against the window between the bathroom and outside, and it was so cold outside that the shampoo had actually frozen in the bottle.

I’m not, really. I am not a big fan of the cold but I’d rather have cold than snow, any day.

Well, not “frozen” exactly, but it was sure stuck! I ran the shampoo bottle under the hot water for a while and the problem was fixed.

The man on the radio said that if it doesn’t get above -22C this afternoon, it will be the coldest day in the last 10 years.

Two anecdotes about Jan 23, 2003:

  1. A car had spun out on a patch of black ice on the highway, and was stopped in my lane, facing me. I had plenty of room, and attempted to change lanes to avoid him, losing control myself, and ended up hitting a concrete barricade at roughly 90 km/h.

  2. The tow-truck dropped me off at my then-girlfriend’s place, who had an Australian staying with her for a little. She told us that when one of her friends who had been to Canada was telling her what to expect, she was told that there would be times when it was so could, she would want to cry. As the mercury dipped below -31C that night, walking home from work, she said “I finally understood what she was talking about.”

I do remember the year is was so cold that the bay froze over.
That was cold!

Poor little ducks swimming in circles trying to keep their little spot from freezing over.

I am not laughing at you. I swear, but here in Winnipeg we are glad to see this weather start to move East because thank GOD it will finally get out of here - we have had that -40ish for over a week now. Enough is enough.

Blows raspberries at Morgenstern

We’re having a heat wave, it’s 18 right now according to my Weather Bug.

I don’t think it got out of the single digits yesterday. What really sucks is that about a week and a half ago it was in the 60s. :frowning:

The problem (for me) is not simply that it’s 12 degrees towards the end of January. What’s making it so challenging is that it was 50 degrees on Saturday. I’m happy for winter to be wintery, but I like my seasons to change a little more gradually.

I have an uncle who lives in Winnipeg and he calls it “Winterpeg.”

How can you have cold without snow?

You mean the other way around, right?

I’ve had the heat turned up to full all day, and I’m wearing a hoodie, and it’s still fricking cold.

Hell I’ve got the wood stove burning and I’m still wearing wool socks. Stupid cold and mumble mumble grumble…

Send some of that cold down here. We had rain for a freakin month, now it’s sunny and 70’ in the day and low 50s at night. Global warming can kiss my patoot.

I grew up with winters in the single digits and wind chill in the negatives. I would like to see some winter now, not just a few light frosts. We usually get several good frosts and a couple periods of freezing weather.

I put up with the summer heat because my skin needs the humidity.

19 degrees f is -7c. Screw that, you can have it.

36 degrees c here today (96 f) with a forecast overnight low of 26c (78 f)

Might need to leave the air con on tonight.:stuck_out_tongue:

It’s warming up; It’s only -28 C (-18 F) this morning.
