We’ve been having a most unusual spring this year in Hungary. The building manager turned off the main boiler (the house heater) on April 21, which was fine because we had unseasonably warm weather. The week after, however, the temps plunged and it has rained pretty nearly every day since then. After a week of freezing our butts off, the manager finally turned the boiler back on.
We’ve had a few days of highs in the upper 60s/low 70s, and, of course, the manager turned the heat back off, and now bam - here we go back into the 50s for highs and lows and rain, rain, rain! The locals tell me this weather is most unusual. Is it the volcano ash causing all the weird weather? I wonder…
Anyway, I’m ready for some warm, dry weather again. I’m tired of woolly socks and sweaters! Come on - it’s June 1st, for Bast’s sake!
[sub]I keep telling people abpout the ice age coming. I-5 will be a glacier, we’ll have polar bears in the garbage cans. But, does anyone listen… no, no one listens…[/sub]
Heh - that might sound funny to someone NOT from the prairies, but I know exactly what you mean - I don’t want to move out of Calgary because the winters are so much milder here (compared to where I’m from, Saskatoon).
I’m still not happy. High today will be 52 F, low tonight 49 F (or 11 and 9 C, respectively) and rain again today. I’m cold, dammit! (That’s me, turning blue) This is great weather for January, but it’s frigging JUNE! My South Carolina past has NOT prepared me for this…
