I feel for ya. Yesterday and today have been the first nice days we’ve had all year, but we still have snow on the ground. Hopefully it’ll be gone soon.

During my sons winter vacation, it never got above freezing.

I know how you feel, kelli. It snowed here (Missoula, MT) yesterday and the day before. It’s all melted now, but that doesn’t prevent it from getting seriously cold every SINGLE morning! And the days are not much better. The snow may not have stuck around, but the very thought that it actually snowed in April is one more reminder that winter is apparently not finished with us yet! Argh! Next Sunday is Easter, and if Dr. LindyHopper can’t have her Easter-egg hunt, she’s going to be seriously pissed. We even had a one-week stretch of nice days (highs in the high 50s), just to taunt us! Maybe we need some sort of sacrifice to the weather gods. Hmmm…
OK, I’ve got a pair of Sorels, a Dr. Who-style scarf (9 feet long), and an ice scraper. Who else wants to add something to the “appease the winter gods” bonfire?

Here in Massachusetts, it’s finally warming up. I think it got to about 60 yesterday. I give it till the weekend before the flurries start in again. Grr. I hate New England weather…
I thought you were talking about Calgary when I read the title. -6C every night, +4C every day (for you Americans reading this, +4C is the temperature inside your refrigerator). I heard the weather this morning and had a small fit of “I am so freakin’ sick of cold - cold and snowy, cold and windy, cold and wet, just plain cold. Enough, already.” Maybe that’s why Canadians are so polite; we’re all on a hair trigger ready to snap waiting for winter to end.
(Sorry, LindyHopper, not feeling much sympathy; we get snow in Calgary in July. The first thing you learn in Calgary is never put your winter clothes away.)
Well, to your OP I gotta say you’re a lucky fuck and I would kill for more snow and a longer ski season, but now I see you are saying it’s warming up…so enjoy your meltage.
Christ, we had baseball size hail here last night. Frankly, I’d rather see snow.
LindyHopper, how long have you lived in Montana? I grew up there, and I remember it snowing at least once in every month except July and August. (And, no, I’m not counting Mt. St. Helens.) April snow is not that unusual, and outdoor Easter egg hunts were certainly never a given. That’s the price you pay for all that beautiful mountain scenery. Weather reports are sort of an “I guess…?”
It’s just raining here in Minnesota–thank goodness! Minnesota winters give no week-long reprieves. It’s winter until winter is good and ready to leave. It just left, and we are still cleaning up the mess.
